Lamb Craze

On Sunday, met up with the cousins for a buka puasa.

Went to Subang Parade and everywhere was full. And it was only 6-ish. Crazy.
Made our way to Empire, Subang, and of course, almost everywhere was full, too. Except Tarbush. Did a teeny bit of shopping, and headed for Buka Puasa.

We ate so much lamb, its crazy.

"Eh, we might as well live up to our name" -Me
It is amazing how much lamb an Arab could it.Amazing.

*drool*

Good times catching up.

Double Dose

Last week, I had free tickets for a screening of 2 movies. Perks of being a blogger, I tell you.

First up, Vampires Suck.

I love twilight. I know some people find this whole vampire-human thing the most annoying thing in the world. I do, too, sometimes. This movie is a spoof of Twilight. I find spoof super funny. From all the Scary Movies, Dance Flick, now this. So I was dying to go watch.

Edward and Becca

It was funny, at first, but after a while I find it too exaggerated. I think the things that you see in the trailers are the only super funny bits of the movie. I would probably give it a 6.5/10.

Second, Going the distance.

I though it was a sappy, romantic movie. But then again it is Drew Barrymore and Justin Long. It should be a comedy, right? I was sleepy, so I was hoping to not fall asleep in the cinema. Turns out, it was an awesome movie! Effing funny.

Since Drew and Justin are an off-camera couple, you could really see the chemistry, sparks, or whatever you call it, on screen.

Btw, the weather now is so cra-zy!!Freaking sore throat! Thank god I'm on a 1 week holiday. Jealous much??heh.

Happy Holidays!

Roar!

Oh, I hav'nt blog about fashion for quite a long time. No wonder I was feeling something..missing.

I realise that animal prints are kind of 'in' write now. Be it tiger, leapord, zebra, cougar, whatever- ladies around the globe are trying to wear it. Some are even dressing their furnitures with it.

I find dressing head to toe in prints super tacky. However, when it is done with class and elegance, it would look beautiful. There is a fine line between looking classy and looking like a transexual hooker.

Many designers came up with animal prints in their collection, and they look good!Even with head to toe covered with animal prints. But then again, they are 6ft,skinny,flawless hair, lucious hair models with never ending legs. They would look good if i throw my pillowcase on them.

Where is the fair-ness in this world?

Dolce & Gabanna

Moschino

Ferragamo

Maybe I should start with a leapord print headband first.

Movie Mania

I have been such a bum this fasting month, its not even funny. Sleep in as if I'm on a holiday- attendence is looking not so good. Darn all this morning classes.

A couple of weeks back, in preparation to fasting month, I went on a crazy downloading frenzy (thank god for Unifi) and now I have kebejillion movies to watch, therefore, I'm getting blind-er by the day (due to facing the laptop every waking second of the day), and waking up late.

Oh btw, that movie City of Angels creep-ed the crap out of me! Who does a movie like that? Was that suppose to be a romantic movie? Pffft.

Creepy!!

Got to adjust my sleeping habit back, or I'll flunk this semester *touch wood*.

Since Day 1 of ramadhan, I have watched about 10 movies, a whole season of Boston Legal and a whole season of Big Bang Theory *crossed eyes*. I need to get a life, huh?

Guess what I eat while watching movies??

Aaaah, good ol' mamee sllrrrp, toss in some crabstick and sausages, topped with an egg- compliments a great movie (sorry no picture of my creation, kinda lost my camera charger, but hey, time to use your imagination, ey). Just don't watch any of Saw while eating, or it'll come right back out.heh.

No wonder these pants are getting tighter.sob.

Sushi Overdose

Breaking fast with sushi is not so much of a good idea.

Today, I went to break fast with Azrin and a dear cousin, Nadia at Sakae Sushi. First few plates I was still going 'oohs' and 'aahs', but to a point, you still want to look for that kuah lemak cili padi. Wasabe does not really work, apparently.

Azrin had this coupon, where we would pay much cheaper is we ate RM 200 worth of food. So that was the goal. By the end of it, I wished 'red plate' was RM 15.90.

*took out a calculator*
Me : Total RM135. Go on guys, RM65 to go.
Nadia : What?Shit...
Azrin : I need to go for a walk..

We started ordering the most expensive drinks, dessert, and stuff it in until we were sweating sushi.heh.

Me : Excuse me, how much is our current bill?
Waiter : RM 208.60
Me : BINGO!!
Nadia : YAY!!
Azrin : Thank god..!
*applause and fireworks!*

Nadia got sushi wasted in the car..

We were all retardedly full and didn't know wherer to go, and I wanted to check out Lookout Point in Ampang..

(on the phone)
Mama : Adik, where are you?
Me : Going to lookout point.
Mama : For what?
Me : To see KL..
Mama : *pause* Have you not seen KL before? Where have you been all these 21 years?

So 24 wrong turns, and 2 hours later, we reached the place (at 11.45 pm!). And 429 stairs later (hoped it burnt the 100 plates of sushi before), we reached the top of the world!

Oh so preety, the place!!

Slave

Happy Friday people! You know what this means? It means that tomorrow I will sleep until break fast time.Awesome!! This was such a busy, busy week. 2 presentations (which did not go so well, unfortunately) and a test *fingers crossed*

Also, I got my blackberry back. Yeah, went to fix the track ball (this was the second time my track ball was spoilt).

Time to get Bold 2 *died*

Now that I got my Blackberry back, I am back on Kardashian/Paris Hilton mode. You know, where you can see these people ALWAYS with their Blackberry, or whatever gadget they have. It's kind of an accessory. Who needs a bracelet when you can wear something that you can communicate with right?

This is an addiction.

Now, I am always tapping something..

Mom : Everywhere in the house I could hear you click-clack-click-clack here and there.

Dad : What multi-million dollar business do you have? *looks at his phone* Even I don't have people calling or texting.

Friends : Get off your phone!

....I feel an intervention coming.

Even Azrin is left out.

Azrin : ...bla bla...work....bla bla..training...bla bla...there's a snake on your shoulder...
Me : Oh no!!Can't find Old Town on foursquare!
Azrin : .............

Poor guy!

However, I am an awesome girlfriend, so instead of me leaving him in the real world to enter the virtual blackberry world, I decided to drag him in with me. Genius, no?

Whenever we go out for drinks, we'll sit across each other, both busy with Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, sometimes even BBMed each other.

Azrin : Oh no, got road block in PJ
Me : Yeah, goddit too.
* both continue bb-ing*

Stocks

I wanted to put my Finance skills that I've absorbed for 4 years to test. I also wanted to prove that I could still be an awesome 'money' person even when I watch E!News and ditched Financial Daily.

There is this game going on online about trading shares or stocks (really, I don't know the difference) with virtual money and stuff.

It uses the real KLSE thing, only you trade with virtual money (thank god).

So I registered for fun, just to see what happens.

First of all, that screen with rows and rows of numbers makes me dizzy. Green, red, yellow, open, high, low - Ohmygod! Never seen any of these in class..

So I depended on common sense..

"Ah, I shall pick the green ones"

I don't even know how this works.

After clicking here and there any putting whatever amount I felt like typing..

"DONE"

So I logged off and the next day I logged back in..

-$864.95

&^%$#*@!!!!

Apparently picking things with your heart does not work in the corporate world. I picked Genting, because its a fun place. I picked MAS, because I like to travel. I picked Muhibah, because there is a restaurant of that name 3 minutes away from my house. I picked PohKong because, I mean, who does not like gold, right? I also 'invested' in Fitters because I was hungry and it sounded like banana fritters.

None of them gave me returns.Pffft!

*looks at list of potential future career*
*cross out 'Investment Planner'*

So you guys could give it a try, too! They give out crazy cash prizes with highest portfolio.

For me, no hope!

Mother

How's the fasting going? *checks image in mirror*

Nope, have not lost any lbs. Its ok, 25 days to go..

The past 5 days, have been the least productive days of my life. Sahur-sleep-break fast-dessert-sleep.No wonder I'm packing on the pounds.haih.

Speaking of sahur, I respect my mother (all mothers, actually) for always preparing food in the middle of the morning. No whining. No complaining. Always wake me up with a smile. She will always have to wake up at least an hour ahead of us, blending, cooking, while the rest of us are still dreaming about 'Chuck Bass'. When she's done, she will calmly wake each of us up and here we are throwing fits for waking us up. And she still serve us food.

And than there's the choices of food. Mommy always have to think of what to cook. Something I like, something Daddy likes, something she likes..Of course she wants to make everyone happy. And super full.

Who says being a housewife is easy?

If it was me, do you want to know what I'd feed my kids?
Mamee Sllrrrp.

They can even pick their own flavour.

Easy, no?

*smacks forehead*

What Distance I'd go for my other half.

I may be a little ignorant for many people. I tend to openly criticize people, make hurtful comments and joke around in a way only I find it funny. Yes, I am always the heartless one.One thing people do not know is I care for the person I love more than I care for myself.I swear.

I just dont know how to show it.

Family, friends, boyfriend, pet fish, teddy bear, shoes, handbags-I love them all. People do not know that, and I prefer it to stay that way. Hard on the outside, soft on the inside, I'm kinda like..Kinder Bueno (sorry, this fasting month makes me relate everything to food).heh.

After all, you know you're a controlling bitch when your own boyfriend calls you Hitler *waves at Azrin*

As busy as I am, when a friend or family is in need, I would drop everything and run to help.In 5-inch stilettos, of course.

So, I wonder, what distance I'd go for my other half?

Azrin, my current other half, thinks that I'm a spoiled girl, who can't stand the sun, who does not know how LRT works, who's daddy gives her everything she needs when she cries.

..... well, not really.

So worse case scenario : Azrin, lost in the middle of a jungle.

No air-cond. No handphone. No heels. Lots and lots of mosquitoes. *breathe...breathe..*

For the sake of love, I would toss them heels, put on a pair of sneakers, and try to save him. Hopefully with some sort of portable fan in hand. Having a few butlers to help me carry my stuffs wouldnt hurt too.heh. Yes, this spoiled girl would go that far for the other half. I would get bitten by bugs, I would embrace the hot sun (lets just hope he gets lost at sunset or sunrise), I would leave all those material gadgets that I'm a slave to, just to save my other half.

Cue : Awwwwwwwwww.

Moral of the story: Please dont even think of going into a jungle.Please.

Happy 2years7months syg!

Saiful & Nurul's Reception

Remember when I skipped class and turn up for a cousin's wedding?

So last Saturday was the second reception, help at Malaysian Petroleum Club (MPC), KLCC, a super duper fancy, exclusive club. I guess this was the more modern reception, because guests showed up in suits and evening gowns (it was just another reason for me to go shopping).

We were right next to the bridge!

View of KL from the bar area

During the rehersal, I was sticking my nose everywhere and started snapping pictures :)

Lounge for guests of honour to chill before the ceremony

Main table

Sort of a grand entrance to the main table

Each table beautifully decorated with a gorgeous centerpiece

Guests are VVIPs, so there were not many seats, but the setting was beautiful. Every detail was paid attention to, combination of black and red was seen from decoration at the bar, to the pillars, to of course, the tables.

Guests of Honour : DYMM The King, The Queen, Sultan of Kedah and Sultanah of Kedah.

The King and Sultan of Kedah (Sorry for the blur-ness. I was trying to bow, shake hands and take a picture at the same time)

The one in gold is the Sultanah of Kedah

Food served to guests was a 5-course fusion meals. Sorry, no pictures. The dinner started really late, and I was super hungry so by the time the 2nd course came, I did not even bother where my camera was.heh.

Sharp looking bride and groom!

Stock Up

Ramadhan is around the corner. You know what this means?Param pam pam pam *wipes drool*.Mission of the month : Visit every pasar ramadhan in town *mental image of ayam percik, kuih akak, asam laksa, otak otak, air tebu, air tembikai....i could go on for days*

30 days= 30 Pasar Ramadhan=Lots of food=Gain weight=Can't fit Raya clothes.

Its time to detoxify ourselves, 'cleansing' ourselves from food, drinks, and any sort of bad behaviour. To all non muslims, give it a try. Not only you get to experience the wonderful journey of fasting, you also get to lose a few pounds,

In preparation for Ramadhan, Azrin and I went groceries shopping, to stock up on food, in case of 'oh-no-woke-up-late-for-sahur' moments, where you could just boil water, pour it in the cup, and voila! Sahur's ready.

Mamee Sllrrp!

Also stocked up for midnight snacks, you know, meals (read meals, not snacks!) between break fast and sahur.heh.yeap, fast or no fast, I think I still eat 3 meals a day.Or more.

To all muslims, and non muslims who wants to give this a try (advice : stay up until 5 a.m, than eat like crazy, go sleep, skip class, wake up at 5 p.m, go to Param, break fast...easy, no?), Happy Ramadhan.May we have a very blessed fasting month.

Let's give our stomach a rest, shall we?

Hot Jin

Remember when I blogged about how excited I was waiting for Tekken the movie to be out???

One word- Dissapointing.

Seriously, such a crappy storyline. I mean the fight scenes were excatly like the game (like how Eddy Gordo always looks like he needs to go to the loo before the fight) which is good. But everything else...blah!

If it wasnt for half naked Jin and butt crack lady (I forgot her name, but she's the heroin) I think people would have walked out of the cinema.

I do think Jin is too preety though. We need a tougher looking Jin, not some korean boyband looking guy. Nonetheless, hawtness! I also got annoyed with the fact that they had Eddy Gordo for 5 seconds throughout the movie. No, maybe 2 seconds.

See what I managed to sneaked into the cinema!

Biggest doughnut I've ever eaten.

In comparison with Azrin's hand

Had a hard time stuffing it in my handbag, since it was as big as my face, and when the movie ended, Azrin and I ate less than half of it. So I ate half a face.

Weddinks

Last Saturday, I attended a cousin's wedding.

Half way through my block teaching class, I decided to walk out of class and head to Bangi. The wedding was held at Petronas Permata, Bangi. Or was it Kajang?Ok, not really and 'A' student for geography here.

The ceromany was beautiful. I guess it was more of a 'garden' wedding (because the pelamin was filled with lovely, lovely flowers.

The highlight (for me, it was) was the food. Awesome food. The fact that I didnt ate the whole day, contributed to the seconds.Or thirds.

...and of course the glowy, gorgeous bride and groom.

I wore heels that day, now my leg hurts from my ankle right up to my knee. Sort of like cramps. Why, oh why?

My parents and the newlyweds

Anyway, Congratulations Abang Pol & Kak Nurul!!!

Hairdresser

Couple of weeks ago, Azrin started his new job (congrats!!).

He wanted to look neat, you know, like how kids wanted to look on a first day of school :)

I was bored, and my hands were itchy..

"Sayang, instead of going to a salon, why don't I cut your hair *smile*"

".............. ok??"

"hahaha hell yeah!"

So I grabbed the scissors from, err, the kitchen, and put my skills to the test.

Before the cut : 'Sayang, just for the record, no matter what happens, hair will grow back. Also, you are a guy, so worse come to worse, we could just shave it bald and it will be fine. And I heart you very very mucho'

*snip*
