Squid Eggs

Went for a day trip to Penang yesterday with Azrin and his brother, Ashraf to visit their grandmother who's ill. Get well soon, tok mama! I'm never going for a day trip to Penang even again. It was so tiring, even though we had three drivers in the car (although the whole way there, Ashraf was snoring away with his bantal busuk), it's such a long way, its crazy!

It was sad to see Tok Mama, I did not talk much just so I won't cry and she looks tired. Thank god, she's getting better, alhamdulillah.

......I got my favourite Nasi Kandar before we headed back to KL....

Nasi Kandar Beratur! Apparently the best nasi kandar now is nasi kandar jelutong but they open at night so didn't get to try.

Its ok, I was already happy I got my 'teloq sotong'.

Drool!

I was chanting "please have telur sotong, please have telur sotong" all the way there and God answered my prayers.

Unfortunately, didn't get to have my favourite cendol and mee goreng...so have to go to Penang again! Soon. Maybe after the election.

Sipping Gold

On the day Sofia went off for her honeymoon, Sarah arrived from her long Japan trip (sheesh, jet-setting friends).

No, she did'nt buy me no kimonos.

Went to visit her at home and kacau her unpack (just in case she hid some kimonos in there haha)..

Sarah: Cik P, you should take care of your health. I'm gonna serve you green tea.

Urgh. Here comes Dr. Lalat.

"OMG ITS REALLY GREEN!!!"

I kepit my nose, held my breath and was preparing to gulp it down just to make her happy. Surprisingly, it was so yummy! Seriously, it's even yummy-er than my daily drink, teh o ais.

Its sweet, with a hint of seaweed. Oh, you see that little dots in the green tea?

They're gold flakes! Like real gold! I feel rich already! Apparently its good for your skin, so I drank till the last drop hoping I would glow like Lady Gaga.

Your Honour

Friday was a vary memorable day in Shafiqah and I'm honoured to be part of it.

She was called to the bar!!

I was so nervous for her, and with everyone being so serious in the courtroom doesn't help either. All the garang faces, everything in black and white. We need to splash a bit more colour around, no?

They were giving speeches, and their 'masters' putting on a robe for all these new lawyers, while the judge declares you as a lawyer, officially. Pretty cool! Thank god the judge was funny and sacarstic or it would have been quite boring.

Congratulations, Fi!! You're now officially a lawyer, after years of stressing yourself studying for years. I'm so so so proud of you. You're going to be an ah-mayzing lawyer!

Ain't nobody mess with me now, legally! Hee.

Ten Minutes

Its 8.30 am and I just got back from sending dear Sofia and Hazren to the airport for their honeymoon.

Their flight was at 7am..

Azrin and I were outside their house at 5.15 am (yes I woke up at 5am on a Sunday for my bestie), calling them kebejillion times.

At 5.50 am..

Sofia: Err. He-lo?
Me: OI! R U STILL FREAKING SLEEPING?! I'VE BEEN OUTSIDE FOR HALF AN HOUR!
Sofia: Oh.

I swear to god, I would've gone up and knock on their door til it breaks, but I need a damn pass to do so.

They were late and they could have check-ed in online the night before, but no.......I guess they were getting, err, busy.

Haha.

I know y'all just got married and stuff, but sleep early lah! Haiyoh. Haha.

We got to the airport 10 minutes before her boarding time and they jumped off the car and ran off ala Amazing Race!

Btw, they went for their honeymoon without shower-ing. HAHAHAHA.

Love at First Sight

You know that feeling they describe in novels or that moment you see in movies when the girl and the boy first lay eyes on each other, and they have that knot in their stomach, goosebumps all over, and everything around you just....stops?

Exactly how I felt when I saw this.

I think I died and went to Chanel heaven.

So gorgeous, I would starve for this. Maybe not. But still...!!

Teacher

Got a phone call one day from bestfriend, who's all the way in Japan. Thought she missed me or something...but she needed a favour.

Boo.

She better bring back some fabulous kimonos for me.

She needed me to teach her sister accounts.

I don't understand know why, because clearly she knew about all the failing I went through in Uni. Wrong person, Lalat.

....but since I'm an awesome friend *flips hair*, I dug through boxes of accounting book, put on my teacher glasses and head to Starbucks for some Accounting 101.

My student for today, ladies and gentlemen...

Qurie!!

She wanted to record the whole thing and I got so embarrased so I told her to turn it off. Seriously, I felt so....pressured. Haha. Thank god I'm not a singer.

I hope I did teach her something, because I think I was more into my Banana Chocolate cake and coffee than the Income Statement.

Not a very good teacher, guys.

If you must know, I can't stand heat. I'm princess-y like that. But for my best friend, I would load up some face tissue and hand fan, and brave through the Port Dickson heat. Anything for my best friend. Unless it involves lizards...that's a whole different story.

1. Sofia's reception.

Grand. Gorgeous. Apam Balik.

Seriously. Apam Balik! The nipis kind- my favourite, and they make it live. I wanted to ask for 'extra jagung', extra crispy, but the pakcik behind me did not look happy. Pfft. Party pooper. Oh and cendol too! Perfect!!

Yeah yeah here comes the bride whatever...*munch on apam balik*. Hehe kidding!

I went up the pelamin and asked "Eh how was you malam pertama...?" *nudge*

2. Hazren's reception.

I love kampung wedding!! Its so traditional, people are super friendly and helpful..

Sofia kept saying "Bing, kipas bing!!Kuat sikit kipas!!" while controlling her smile as she was walking towards the pelamin

We had to head back to KL early because Azrin had exams the next day.

Arab Style

We had Arab food for my birthday celebration with the family. Oh Lamb Mendy, my favourite. Is it just me or that everytime I eat Lamb Mendy, even before I could finish the meal, my whole body starts heating up and you just want to take that piece of big round bread that you eat with hummus, and just fan yourself.

Must be the lamb, no? Burn, I tell you, but ngehhh worth the yummy-ness.

Happy Birthday to me! For those who havn't given  me present, this is a reminder. Haha.

Mrs. Po

First one in the group to be a Mrs. We were all super excited for the wedding. Months of Sofia going crazy, nervous and not forgetting her stopped eating ice cream to fit in that gorgeous wedding dress.. I must say, at times I wanted to stay away from her when she was deciding what who where how of her wedding. Haha.

...but in the end, it was all worth it!

Look at how gorgeous she was!! Hazren is a very lucky man *ehem*

While waiting for her future husband to arrive, she was going nuts in the room. She needed to pee like 20 times, she was biting her lips until it peeled off, she was walking around the room and don't even get me started on her whole "I need to puke" moments. Haih. Now I'm scared to get hitched!

When the event started, the girls and I put on a thick face and sat right in front of the pelamin, and behind the tok kadi. No shame lah these anak daras...haha.

Oh well, we gotta stay close and learn, no?

Office Steamboat

Its quite amazing having one of my best friend and my boyfriend working together. Whenever I'm bored, I'll go lepak at their office (sometimes during my working hours hehe) and because of that I could chill with everyone in the office.

When Boss Fara organised a steamboat dinner, I invited myself and tag along.

Look, Nazirul probably started his part time job there (the one in blue). He was probably too hungry that he helped the workers with the BBQ

Honestly, the food to me wasn't that good, just average, but with good company, it turned out fun! Btw, my favourite steamboat place will still be the one in Ikano. So freaking good!!

Thought Boss Fara was belanja-ing.......pffft. No go.
