Red Raya

Morning of raya. Filled with food, laughter and more food. Azrin and I did our annual beraya, trying to cover as many houses as possible in one day. I set my my mind to calm myself down when I see food, and thank god, I did not end up with a stomach ache this year *pats back*.

Started of with Daddy's house.

A little drama. We were enjoying our food and..

*poof*

Everything went dark. No I did not faint from the yummy lontong. The electricity went out.

Stepmom: Eh, time ni la dia nak black out..
Me: Cair lah make up..berapa jam buat make up ni
Stepmom: Kita candle light raya lah nampaknya..

Later on, we went on to beraya on Azrin's side.

Who says raya in KL is not happening? One thing I realised was that quite a number of people were wearing either blue or red. Every house we went to- Blue. Red. Coincidence?

What is raya without chaotic, the-100th-try to capture the perfect family photo, no?

Hope everyone had a wonderful raya!

Shell Out Noob

Once a year the girls need to have a buka puasa, this time we went to shell out. Fara threw in the idea of Shell Out and Sofia and I were quite excited because we have never tried it, even though the hoo-haa have been around for quite some time.

Fara: Sha, you need the gloves?
Me: Oooh! We're gonna eat with gloves!!!

*puts on gloves on both hands*

Me: Wait, why are we wearing gloves on both hands when we are not even eating crabs.

Then comes Sofia..

*puts on gloves*

Sofia: "Excuse me, could you bring us some fork and spoon please?"

After the delicious meal, I just had to accompany my two pregnant friends with their cravings and have some ice cream. Left the boys, and walked to B&R while gossip our way back.

.

Fun way to end the Ramadhan..(almost)!

Selamat Hari Raya everyone! Maaf Zahir & Batin.

Have fun!!!

The Big Argument

Ramadhan just wooshed by so quickly, we are reaching the last couple of days here. Mixed feelings.

So in between cleaning the house, preparing raya cookies and thinking of where to go for buka puasa everyday, Azrin and I had a....conversation. Haha

He was packing raya money, and Azrin have the obsession with the raya packets. He is a angpow hoarder. He kept the ones from his old bank, and for this year he collected from other banks and compares them.

"Oh, this one is nicer.."

"..but their packet last year lagi cantik.."

"Hmm...they kalah with yang ni lah.."

Me? I was just nodding while adding more things to cart online.

I don't really care because when I was a kid, I threw all the packet away so in my head, that is what the kids will do now. Right? So after he finished being all Simon Cowell with the raya packets, he asked me which one do I want..

Me: Just give me the CNY one.
Azrin: *stares at me blankly*
Me: Just give me like 2 sets enough lah
Azrin: Err..why? *looks offended*
Me: Well I just want to be different
Azrin: ...but there are so many raya ones! See! This one so cantik. Or you can have this one!
Me: Taknak. I want the CNY one...
Azrin: ..but its CNY...
Me: Bagi je la..
Azrin: I still don't get you sometimes..

In my defense, there was no "Happy Chinese New Year" written anywhere on my packet.

Exaggerating, much?

Thirty Something

This was Azrin's second time spending his birthday during Ramadhan, and it was also a public holiday this year and my genius husband insisted on going from one mall to another for a shopping spree (someone needs to tell him to slow down during this holy month, no? hehe!)

"..takpa, birthday dia. Ikutkan je la.."

Since it was his birthday, we had everything his way. I was so tired, omg. I don't know how people can shop for raya all day all night on weekends. We were in a mall and I was drained. After buka puasa, as we were driving home..

"B, don't you want to go to Jalan TAR and stuff? You never know what you can find there. Sure got ramai orang"

*death stare*

No, we didn't go. We did pass buy and it was flooded with people preparing for raya. Cray!

A couple of days ago, we had a buka puasa with my family to celebrate his dinner. Filled ourselves up till we were too lazy to sing Happy Birthday.

"Err..do we need to sing?"
"Takpayah la, potong je kek"
" Ha, tiup je"
"Dah.."

Happy Birthday B!
