Review : Dangal

A few of my colleagues have been talking about this movie and I felt almost left out not knowing about it so I dragged Azrin for a movie date night, even if he is not a big fan of that kind of movies (maybe also because I have bought the tickets and he had no choice, hehe).

Dangal. Aamir Khan (older, more macho). Nuff said.

Many many good values in the movie, I must say. Family, determination to name a few. A father who was a wrestler, really wanted a baby boy just so he could train that boy to grow up to be a wrestler just like him until his wife popped out a girl every time. Four girls, no boy. Even after he trying/following all sorts of "pantang".

So what to do when you have that semangat do something about your country wrestling industry, but you have four girls which in their culture should be staying in the kitchen and cook?

Watch and find out!

Azrin and I learned that we should always listen to our Daddy, no matter what, in whatever issue because they will always just think of the best for us.

.....but my Daddy said drink root beer to kill off the sweetness if the cupcake is too sweet....

Hmm.

Do bring lots of tissue, guys. I mean, I could see a few drops down Azrin's cheek. Maybe he cried because he don't have Aamir Khan's body. Its ok, 2017 resolution, no?

Hehe.

Painter

The place that Azrin and I purchased is completed and we just took the keys and what not a few weeks back. So we have about four months to get it ready for us to move in before the renting contract on our current place ends. Four months. Daddy said "lama lagi tu.."

I don't think so.

First, we need to paint the place, no? We discussed on should we pay someone to do it or what. Genius me said we can do it by ourselves. Ourselves meaning just Azrin and I. Haih. Well, the price to hire someone to paint a small unit..is crazy! I mean, we still have other constructions to do, buying all sorts of things, we have to start paying full monthly installments AND our current rental *looks at bank account balance and cry*.

Cheers to a meggi cup a day for the next four months, ok sayang?

Anywho, about this painting shannanigs, we decided to give it a try (not that we have a choice), so we bought the paint, rollers, brushes and stole whatever we can from Daddy's house and were excited on our Project Painting.

Day 1

A whole freaking day, and we finished one wall.

That's right. Not a room, just a wall.

We had that was-this-the-right-decision look to each other and maybe white looks "classier", no?

Haih.

We did continue for the next two days, which means we covered three walls! *bows*

Azrin's arm and shoulder are in pain, and my back...omg!

How now brown cow?

Big brother

Gotta find more time to blog, seriously.

Also need a holiday but I've been telling myself that about six months ago and it is already coming to 2017. Too many things going on..haih.

So last week was Abang and Shafiqah's birthday and we had a small dinner (as usual) but it was so kecoh omg, since we were the only ones in the restaurant. New place, super nice food, super cheap too!

See, the cafe even post about us on their instagram!

Kecoh Coolest, ok! *puts on sunnies*

Well, Abang told the whole world it was his 26th birthday (woah I have an adik now!) *rolls eyes*, even with his almost-full-white-hair and all sorts of sickness sending its invitation to him day by day (gahaha) but congratulations that you sedar diri on that and doing all sorts of healthy stuff until you lose that much weight in such a short time. I will try to keep up to that yea *munch on nasi lemak*.

Happy 36th, George Clooney wannabe!

Oh and Merry Christmas everyone!!

Dirgahayu

Azrin and I are both big fans of malay dramas (so called American Boy la him). From Idaman, Nur Kasih, Chinta right up to Suri Hati Mr. Pilot, it is really not hard to get us to people to shut off our phones, tapau some mamak, and sit at home stuck with all these dramas on weekends.

Usually we would love their songs and would sing to it all day, him pretending that he is Aaron Aziz running by the beach with wind running through his hair, you know the deal. For our latest addiction, Lara Aishah, the song is nice but he gets annoyed by the 2 seconds of "Cinta Dirgahayu" that keeps repeating throughout (sorry faizal tahir and siti nurhaliza).

When he was in the shower yesterday, I put on my technical cap and put myself on a mission *evil laugh*

....and look what I did!

Hehehe *flips hair*

Ok I know he won't read my blog. I shall call him when he is at work.

Hilang macho.

Earrings

Abang told us in our family group that Elisa will be going for a minor operation yesterday afternoon. I was quite shocked because she looked quite normal having her ghee thosai a few days before.

Hmm..was it the thosai?

Azrin and I went to visit her after dinner at the hospital with a couple of doughnuts as gifts (flowers - so yesterday) which of course Little Sofia happily finished them. Haih.

So what happened to Elisa?

She had to get a couple of stones removed from her gallbladder. Took a look at the stones...

Woah!

"So big! Can buat cincin lah like this"

"Got two. Planning on turning them into earrings"

-_____-'

Can't imagine them vacuuming the stones out. Eek.

"Elisa vacuum tadi, she had a liposuction. Lepas lipo macam ni" -Abang

No, I don't have no brother.

This is how...

...we eat pizza!

When we went for a date almost a decade ago, I told Azrin that I am not a big fan of Italian food. I'm pretty sure Azrin was thinking if he should "go on" dating this girl or not since that is his favourite food.

See, everything happens for a reason because whenever we order pizza, we will cut them like this.

Separate the crusts from the pizza.

Why?

Azrin usually throws away the crusts. I only eat the crusts.

This is what we call love.

Don't Judge

A colleague was telling me about a movie she was watching the night before and how I should watch this movie too. What she told me was quite interesting so after dinner I asked if Azrin wanted to join me watch that movie.

"Oh that movie about the two kids? People say don't watch. It is too depressing"

Well, I didn't really want him to watch that movie with me anyway because he is super sensitive to those kind of....issues. Haha. As I was watching, he was doing he's own things on the laptop but yeah, half way through the movie, he was cursing away until I got stressed out. Haih. Thank god the movie was in japanese, so I didn't really need to hear what they were talking about because clearly the voice-over next to me was louder.

...oh the movie is called "Sunk into the womb" by the way, and it is about a mother with two kids, left by the husband, later on followed her boyfriend and left her 2 little kids (little as in they can't even talk yet!) in the house. So the "bigger sister" had to take care of the adik until at one point the adik died and rot in the house..the mum did come back towards the end of the movie, but you guys have to see what did she come back for.

-_______-"

I was fine with the movie. Sad, but fine. Azrin? Gone case. Well, I told him not to watch but stubborn.

Azrin's point - we always blame the men/fathers in our society when things like this happens to kids/marriage but there are times where the women would do more cruel things and they deserve a slap in the face.

My point - but the father left the whole family first. Isn't he the cause of the problem?

...and we both went to sleep.

Haha. Watch it, guys!

Confidence

Testing testing.

Havn't been blogging for so long, its crazy. I have been so busy (busy doing what also I don't know), that both Azrin and I are only at home to sleep. Even on weekends. Haih. So many series to catch up on. I was planning to get a haircut more than two months ago, still havn't had the time to do it. Starting to look like a lion.

Speaking of haircuts..

Azrin went to get a "haircut" and when he got back, I could hear him from the front door- not too happy.

"B, i think that dude misunderstood the meaning of "shave bald"

Uh-oh

I kept looking at his head and his confidence was getting...err...you know what I'm saying right? So his solution?

Hehe.

Please ignore the change whenever you guys meet him ok.

Dad's 63rd

Daddy's 63rd birthday (if you were to meet him anywhere, please tell him he looks 43 -___-') a couple of weeks ago so we planned a little birthday dinner for him with his favourite food - Seafood.

We picked red as our theme colour but when I reached the place, the first thing Abang said was "You guys could at least pick any colour that is not similiar to the chair".

Birthday boy came, we all ate our feelings to the point where we can't move after and passed Daddy his presents. Every year I can go crazy trying to figure out what to buy for him. When I asked stepmom, she said he wants clothes. Clothes?! Coming from a guy who have 2 rooms full of clothes and spends most of his time just sitting at home in his kain pelikat. So most of us got him..clothes. I must say the sweetest present was the one that Shafiqah gave to him.

*wipes tears*

He was opening his present from stepmom..

Dad : You guys guess what it is
Me : Baju!
Abang : Car!
Azrin : Teddy Bear!
Dad : Nope. My favouritest thing in the world.

All together : Lampu!

My super manly father, guys.

We took a group photo outside in front of a mirror and after that we were trying to figure out who's finger is that on the left. Scary.

"Aku dah cakap dah jangan ambik gambar depan cermin. Aku dah cakap dah" -Abang

Happy Birthday! Next year I get you big big big big lampu yeah?

Balik Kampung

I got kinda jealous when I see people having fun journey balik kampung especially when we have all sorts of holidays now. Friends taking trains or buses back to their hometown. I used to either go back to Kedah or Johor but now since my brother/SIL/father/stepmom all live in the same state, when I "balik kampung", I usually reach the destination before one the end of one raya song.

Since tomorrow is Hari Raya Haji, I wanted to have my "balik kampung" journey, so Azrin dragged me.....

....back to my Daddy's house! Hehehehe.

Oh well, at least we were in a train.

I was so excited, Azrin called me jakun. Ish.

Even Daddy was excited, because I told him I will call him to come and get us once we reach the station, but when I whatsapp him "5 stops away", his reply was

"I am already here"

Hmm.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha!

Skypark

Helena and Ashwin were back for a little while so we had the chance to go double dating for a few times before they flew back to Moscow.

The last time we went out, I asked Helena to pick a place and she insisted on this One City place and I thought that was random and fishy of her. We had dinner and she said she picked that place because she wanted to show/bring Azrin and I something.

Hmm.

I couldn't wait for surprises so I was quietly googling what was available there and of course she saw what I was doing...

"Ok lah, the surprise is more for Ajin and Ashwin I'm sure. Not for you, Sha. There is a skypark upstairs"

Azrin was already sweating. Haha.

We went up after dinner (we should have gone before dinner so that the food won't come out for the boys), it was only 10th or 11th floor or something. The place is pretty cool - wide space to chill, amazing view, pretty romantic (if your boyfriend/husband is not afraid of heights) and some parts of the floor are made of glass and transparent and you can see all the way down. Amazing!

Ashwin and Azrin stood at the side trying not to move at all while Helena and I were trying hard to convince them that it is safe and we should all walk to the middle of the park. Even some makciks were who were walking on it were looking at them weirdly. Shame.

At last, told them to close their eyes, and the girls held both their hands to walk towards the glass floor. Azrin's hands were sweating like cray. When we in the middle of the skypark, we asked them to open their eyes and Helena and I ran away from them. The boys froze, shivering and I swear they were holding on to each other. Hilarious.

Took a few pictures, and the girls had to guide them back to the "safe" part of the park.

Haih.

Uber Virgins

Crazy week I must say, with Azrin falling sick making a couple trips to the hospital and his car breaking down with a few trips to the workshops, now with a few thousand bucks happily flew out the window...we shall eat maggi for the rest of the month yeah? Hehe.

So this morning we had to send his car to the workshop again (when it just got out of the workshop yesterday -___-') and we thought we should just keep the car there until everything is fixed.

One problem : We were stranded at the workshop with no car.

Solution : Call Daddy to pinjam one of his car.

His answer : SIL is pinjam-ing because her car is rosak too.

Called SIL and she said we can pick it up at their house and since it is only 10 minutes away, I should just uber our way there.

Err. Azrin and I have never used this uber thingy.

So there we were, two uber virgins sitting by the roadside trying to download, register and figure out everything....and after half an hour our uber came. Yay! Success!

In the car, after a while I thought he was not going the correct way and suddenly "You have reached your destination".

*crickets*

Got out of the car in the middle of nowhere and apparently SIL gave a shorter version of her address. Tried to get another uber (which took quite long to figure everything out again. I know, Azrin and I are not so "cepat" with these things).

That uber dude had to call me a few times to find us..

Him : Err Hi Sharifah, where exactly are u?
Me : I have no idea.

Thank god the uber guy was friendly and helpful. Even he said "You guys don't use often, don't you?"

...but at last, we reached Abang's house. TTDI to Kota Damansara took us more than 1 hour. Haih.

Pika

Been a long long week, working last Saturday and Sunday, thought of having a good early rest this Friday night until my lovely husband said "B, jom tangkap Pikachu"

-_____-'

Sayang punya pasal.

You see, a few days after the two of us got caught in this whole Pokemon Go crazy-ness, I got a Pikachu while I was in the car and I screamed til i kinda lost my voice. Of course, kiasu Azrin got super jealous and Pikachu has been his aim since then.

He's been searching for that yellow thing everywhere while I show it to him with a cheeky smile on my face. Kih kih.

So after many many discussions with his colleagues, he figured out locations with many Pikas (so this is what they do in banks)

In the middle of the night, we went to a big, dark taman. Suprisingly, it was more happening than Selena Gomez' concert!!

Everyone was holding a phone and walking around like a zombie. Sometimes everyone will run to the same place at the same time (of course in real life it is just a bench. Or a tree)

All for this.

Haih.

Trust me, there were many aunties and uncles too. Suprisingly they ran faster than us younger bunch. Grr.

Tragedi Hamlet

Yesterday was the opening night of our "yang ditunggu-tinggu" Tragedi Hamlet and of course I will drag Azrin and come to support everybody's hardwork.

(also Faridah asked a couple of times yesterday "Coming tonight?*eyebrow raised*")

Shakespeare...in BM. Different. Interesting.

Unlike Azrin, I did not know what Hamlet was about so it was good to know the whole story..but I knew Azrin's planned to tell me the ending before it ended. Haih.

You guys want to know?

Come watch! Y'all still have tonight up to Sunday. Tickets for RM45/RM35.

Mari!

Support

Last Friday klpac had a teeny event in klcc so of course some of us went to show our support. I went with Nurul and Zee, picked Azrin on the way (sibuk only!). We went quite early to avoid the traffic, so decided to chill at a cafe and have a slice of cake and play some...game!

"Samantha from Sex and the City"

"Sex"

"Pee standing up"

-_______-"

After we finished with the game, we went to the event. Aesop, one of our sponsors decided to distribute part of that day's sales to us so there were we trying to attract people to come and buy things. Hee!

See, so many people right? *pats back*

Thank you thank you *bows*

Hehe.
