Wadi Hadramawt

I am sick! 2 weeks to Finals, and I am sick!

It was our 2years9months anniversary yesterday. We are running out of place to celebrate it at, because we sort of have a discover-new-place-to-eat policy for our every monthesarry!

We decided to have dinner at Wadi Hadramawt, somewhere along Jalan Ampang.

The awesomest thing that Azrin and I have in common, is our love for lamb. So we have probably tried almost all arabic restaurants in KL..

Fact : Hadramawt is a place in Yemen, and according to Dad, that is where our ancestors are from.

Looking at the pictures on the wall, it is all desert (like, seriously, sun and sand.nothing else), so no, I cannot be from there. I would die.

Anyway, food is awesome! The Kebab is really yummy.

5 seconds later..

But their Baklava is to-die-for!!! A bit on the diabetes factory side, but it's so good!!

Kan-chiiiing!

Sometimes, I feel freaking old. While most 20-ish year olds are out there partying it up till sunrise, I would prefer to chill my brains out, at a waterfall!!!

"I am all about nature" -Me
Pfffft.Yeah, right *smacks mosquito*

My friends and I have been to several waterfalls, everytime a different one. This time, we head to Hutan Lipur Kanching, somewhere after Selayang.

We reached there at noon, and of course, the sucky-est thing about waterfalls are those bloody stairs. Hello, anyone thought of building a lift or something. For a person that considers watching "How I Met Your Mother" a sport (because you laugh a lot, and laughing burn calories) and wishes fried chicken skin is a type of snack, I am not the fittest person to climb up 3 million stairs. By the way, whoever has the intention of inviting me to climb up Batu Caves, for fun, you may be my friend no more.

So anyway, this place supposedly have 7 levels of waterfalls. Ambitios me thought we could go to probably level 3, but after everyone was panting when we are half way up to level 1, we decided to stop. How did all this aunties and uncles flash pass us??? Having kids sure does keep people fit, huh?

After we found a spot and all trying to gasp for oxygen, I realised, it was just beautiful. A bit too many people, but beautiful!

We started bbq-ing.

...and play in the water...

I find waterfalls the most peaceful place.Minus the kids running, splashins, screaming, crying.

Fazna : We should all one day camp.
Sofia : But we all need the right gears..
Me : I'll check in at the nearest hotel, thank you *kills a bug*

In my defense, a monkey stole my phone once when I was camping. In a hotel, that won't happen.

Sarah's Hairspray Moment

Presentation.Check.

Assignment.Check.

Test.Check.

Hellloo, weekend!

Crazy, crazy week, but on a brighter note, final week of class!!!! So how to de-stress after a hectic week??

Me : What the hell is on the wall?
Sofia : Errr.....Hairspray!
Me : .................. really? It looks Thai.

So yeah, in support of a best friend, all of us went to Monash to watch Sarah in her project, Hairspray Musical!!!
We were a teeny bit fashionably late, so had to sit waaaaaay behind.

Here are pictures of some of the scenes...

I can't upload the videos. I don't know why?? :(

You Again

Remember when our parents make such big deal to get good grades in school? Pfffft.I still don't see the point.

So like any other parents, my parents sent me to various tuition centres, day and night. I remembered I was in a tution centre near my house in Form 3, when I was preparing for PMR. The rebel that I am (in my defence, I was a teenage girl, and going to the mall was 'cool' *hides face*), I tend to skip most of tution classes *waves to Dad*.

When Mom dropped me off, I would go up the stairs, wait for 3 minutes, come back down, call your girlfriends, and go 'lepak'.

Don't everybody do that? No? Ok, nevermind..

You see, my girlfriends and I had big imagination. We used to think we were pop stars, and dressed up like one, for tuition *hides under bed*.

There was a particular clique in class that was annoyed by our "class skipping", "lateness" and probably the fact that we wear 4-inch stilettos and 7-inch make up. A particular guy, kept complaining to the teacher about our 'situation' (such a suck up!) and of course, we got into a bit of trouble.

So the guy and I never really talked but we were more into exchanging death stare to each other.

By the end of the year, and PMR was done (I've got 7 As, despite the skipping class thing) and I thought I would never see him again (because he was in a different school).

First day of school the next year, in Form 4, I stepped into class, and the first face I saw..

HIM! Smiling and waving..

*&^%$#$%^!!!!

Ironically, within a few months, we became best friends, and inseperable.

Not anymore.

Walk

Sofia and I was driving around Subang today, and we realised one thing..

Malaysians don't walk.

Studying in Sunway College, exposed us to people from around the world. We realised that foreigners have no problem walking anywhere, be it under screeching hot sun, pouring rain, super windy, whatever, they will walk anywhere and everywhere.

Even if they live 30 minutes away from college, they would rather walk home, all happy, smiling, and perky with their friends. As for me, if my car was parked a bit far, I'd rather have a friend send me to my car *smacks forehead*

I wonder why...?

Im sure us Malaysians, even if you are just going to 7-eleven 10 minutes away from your house, you would rather drive, or take a motorcycle, or even bicycle, right?? And when you're stuck in a jam or can't find a parking, you start yapping by yourself in the car like a mad person.

With the amount of Nasi Lemak we consume, in comparison with the walks we take, no surprise the numbers of heart attack is off the roof.Scary.

I don't know why we are super lazy to walk. I do not think is the hot sun, because other people have skin too, right? So I guess it is juss pure laziness.

We need to stop being such a bum!

"If I had to walk, after 5 minutes, I would be cursing like crazy and start hailing for a cab" -A true Malaysian.

From now on, any short trips should be done by foot, because, it is healthier, will not cause traffic jams and there is no need to waste time to look for a parking.

*thinking hard*

Ok, maybe not.

The Dress

I was watching the latest season of Gossip Girl. Btw, Chuck Bass just got 40% hotter this season *drooool*. But what is up with his new girlfriend?

Dude! Downgrade!

Gossip Girl really stepped it up in their wardrobe department. If only people in KL do go to college and dress up like Serena and Blair...(ok. maybe not)

I was watching an episode when I saw this..

OhMyGodHolyMotherOfNateArchibald!

I actually paused the episode, stared at it for a good 5 minutes, and got a little teary. Tears of perfection. I think this is the most awesome dress by GG to date.

I even dreamt about this Jenny Packham dress that night.Of course, Serena being 8 feet tall really did this dress justice.I WANT!!

Straight of the runway :

Family Dinner

Everyone is so busy these days, that it is hard to find a day where everyone is free to have dinner and catch up. Worse part is, most of us are still studying, and everyone is saying that when you're in college, it would be the free-est, fun-est, hoo-haa time of your life (clearly, the person who said that did not go to college).

At last, we (the usuals and i), except for Fazna met up for sushi. Have not had that kind of fun in a long time. I have friends that could eat the world, I tell you. They kept ordering, to a point food kept coming, even when we were like a stuffed turkey.

Thank god we have Sarah. She is sort of like the DBKL of the group. I shall let the pictures do the talking..

Sarah's section

When the bill came..

Me : Po, calculate 330 minus 70 divide by 6
Sofia : *tapping on her phone* Errr...One..thousand...two...hundr....eh???
Everyone : ....................................

That is our future banker, ladies and gentlemen..

We were all so full, that we ended up looking like this.

Such pretty friends I have. Btw, Azrin cant cross his eyes!heh

We ate so much that each couple got 2 free gifts...

1. Toothpaste. *checks breath* I honestly don't understand the relevence.
2. Coupons. *flips to 1st page* "3 weeks membership at Celebrity Fitness" Yes, I know we ate A LOT of sushi...*looks in mirror*

Offensive, much?

We were the last one to leave Sakae Sushi (because even after 20 minutes after "last call" we still ordered something), so we head to Solaris, Mont Kiara to shoot some pool.

Team A

Team B

Team C

Oh dear, have not played pool in a long time. I remembered when I was 15, when pool was so bloody "in", played it every day.

I really appreciate spending quality times like this with my closest friends..it is unfortunate that even now, everyone is busy all the freaking time.

Supersizing

Everywhere we go now, you see supersize here and supersize there. Like u add 30 cents, you'll get larger fries, larger coke, and of course, a damn larger ass.Maybe that flimsy thing on your arm, too.urgh!

Unfortunately, fashion is somehow following these oversizing trends. How and when on earth did McDonalds influence Chanel? I don't ever think Karl Lagerfeld eat cheeseburger (I imagine him as a kind of person that sniff macaroons as dessert). Maybe soon we'll be wearing 'nuggets bracelets'

I am not a big fan of all these oversized accesories. Sometimes, they just look ridiculous.

Oversized earrings.

How can u not hurt yourself when you look left and right to cross the road? I once thought wearing gigantic earings was preety, until I found out there is nothing hot about balancing 3kgs of metal on both ears.

Oversized handbag.

One trend that still havn't clicked to me. Do us girls have to carry that many things? Maybe these people carry their home with them wherever they go.Or when they want to steal babies.

Oversized rings.

Now, this is fabulous fashion. Why? I don't think anyone will mess with us if we have an oversized ring on each finger. To all boyfriends/husbands, if you are planning to break the news of an affair, make sure your girl is not wearing no oversized rings.espiacially spiky ones.

Oversized sunglasses.

Yes, the infamous oversized sunglasses. Where girls want to look like bugs. God knows how big their eyebags are, but they need something to hide it with, right? Lets all blame Paris, Nicole and Victoria for bringing this trend to another level. Oh, and for the Olsen twins, I think they're wearing normal sized sunnies, just that their face is super tiny.

Oversized cluthes.

Isn't clutches suppose to be so small that it could only fit a Blackberry and a couple of credit cards? Eh, you might as well carry a hangbad then.Pointless.

Let's all get back to normal size, shall we?

Espanol V Mexicano

Last week, Azrin and I was roaming around looking for a new place to eat. We are almost out of new food place to try. Any suggestions??

Until we saw Pedro's Place in Hartamas. I have seen it for quite some time, but never tried it before. So why not?

Apparently, it serves Spanish and Mexican food. I got confused for a while, but then thay have a separate menu for each, err, country.

So they have food like tacos, quesedillas, nachos, burgers, pasta (isn't this itallian?) and kebejillion more. It took me a good half an hour to pick what to eat.

Me : Hey, what's good
Waiter : Everything's good *smile*
Me : *jeez, you're not much of a help, mister*

I settled for a chilli cheese burger, which is to freaking die for! Beef patty super juicy, with melting cheese and overflowing chilli *droool*

I was too into my food, and was not really listening to Azrin so I think he ate a...Quesedillas?

Btw, that chillii cheese burger is super highly recomended!! Go try it!
Its going to be a busy, busy week...this is why...
