Twenty Seven

Turned 27 last month. Yes, I am only 27 and Azrin is two years older than me. Just putting it out there..haih.

I was not really in a good mood on my birthday this year, no idea why. Ended up just staying at home. Only for the next few days, my celebrating mood came and the food fest began.

First up, my birthday date with Azrin at my favourite favourite favourite Japanese restaurant in the world. Seriously, nothing in Japan can beat this. To me la. Both of us did'nt even have to sit and discuss where to go eat what not, just a simple "Jom" or "Let's go" on special dates...we would know where.

"I bet if we were crazy rich, you would bring Bentencho to come eat Kampachi everyday. Two salmon please, raw for me, cooked for my cat. Maybe you two pakai matching baju also" -Azrin

-________-"

Kenyang birthday girl.

Secondly, it was pretty quiet in my family group whatsapp a few days prior, so I kinda suspected something but I thought let's just play along. Besides, for every birthday for everyone in my family, we get a surprise. It would be a surprise to not get a surprise...get it?

As I was reaching Daddy's house (Azrin and I drove separately there *rolls eyes*), The whole neighbourhood was dark *crickets*

"Wah whole neighbourhood surprising me ke? Maybe got fireworks" I thought.

Went into the house, and stepmom, daddy and cousins saying "Surprise" not so excitedly.

I was laughing like crazy, apparently the power blackout happened 5 minutes before I got there. Lols.

"Candle light birthday party la ni? Hahahaha"
"Birthday girl here already, I think we can switch on the lights, no? Hahahahah"

Really fun, even when all of us don't really know if we have Mee Kari or Laksa Johor in our bowl for more than an hour.

Lastly since, my birthday dinner with the girls was postponed (still waiting, ladies), I had a few drinks here and there as a mini celebration.

Sarah and Rais took me out for cake because she thought she was going to pop soon, and won't be able to make it to my dinner.

Seriously, huge! I kept poking her tummy till she went 'ouch!'. Amazing. My magic fingers, because right after our tea session, her water broke. Must be all the poking hehe.

With Sofia, went for a quick short dinner after work.

Thank you everybody!

Short Break

Azrin and I needed a short break and I don't think we had any cuti more than a day since our honeymoon since I work on most weekends so after a million discussions and planning, we managed to get a few days off together (it was weird seeing each other's face 24 hours for almost a week, we were both happy to see our working desk after haha!).

We wanted to just get out of KL for a bit and have our me time...you've guessed it - Penang!

Where else, right? Somewhere we don't even need waze to get around *flips hair*.

Spent a couple days, eating, going around. Didn't bother going to the beach because the heat was....omg!

Awesome short, much needed break. Now back to work, but planning when and where to go next. Heh.

Its the heat, I tell you.

Think Alike

Received a text from Greg yesterday "OMG I got your birthday chocolates! We had the same idea!".

I sent him chocolates for our birthday and apparently he was surprising me with the same thing too. Shows the lack of ideas/creativity with people born on this day. Except for Lady Gaga, Haha. He was getting annoyed because his transaction kept failing and those chocolates are not arriving to my doorstep.

Shows that it is easier to buy something in Aussie with Malaysian credit card, compared to buying a box of chocolate in Malaysia using an Australian credit card. Haih.

"Give up. Would you prefer flowers?"

"Flowers cannot be eaten."

The next day, these arrived at my office.

Woah! Gorgeous.

The weird thing was our birthday was on the 28th March but we both receive our presents waaaayy after that date. Major fail.

...but thanks Greg!!

He will be flying off to NYC in a few days..so all the best!! Love ya! Muah!

New Nephew

I have many many things to write about but everything else can be put on hold because this is more important (even my birthday!)

I woke up yesterday, went through all the unread whatsapp and I screamed

"B!!!OMG!! Lalat gave birth!!!! Wake up!!!!"

Poor Azrin who was happily in dreamland. Hehe. I just could not believe it because I was with her and Rais a few hours before having cake. We even had the conversation that I asked her to pop now so that her baby will be a March baby (just like me, but it freaked her out having the thought that her baby will be just like me -_____-') but Rais wanted her to hold the baby in for a few days more just so he will be an April baby (just like his Daddy). Haha

So yes, one of my best friend/cousin-in-law gave birth yesterday just two days after my birthday wooot!!! I can already feel the connection.

Azrin and I went to see them at the hospital...oh the baby is so cute!! Looks just like his mommy though. Hehe.

Congratulations Sarah & Rais!!!

Pirate

Daddy had a minor eye surgery last week and since I had things at work and can't take leave, I went to visit him after work. I swear Azrin and I were going cray because the traffic........haih. Daddy come stay closer please.

Pirate Daddy! Ay-yay captain! Hehe.

As an apology for not being there throughout his surgery, I brought a little gift for him.

Super yummy key batik! Sweet like cray but omg so delicious. As I was handing it to Daddy, Stepmom said "Doctor said no sugar. Sugar level out of control dah". Uh-oh.

"Alaaaa pliiishhhhh" both Daddy and I gave the puss-in-boots look. Stepmom jeling but of course she  gave in to stepdaughter. Ngehehe.

Delicious.

Say Hello To

Azrin have been talking to me about getting a cat since he had more than 10 cats ever since he was little boy. He will get all excited seeing stray cats anywhere and stuff, plus he kept saying "you work almost every weekend, at least a kitty can teman me watch tv".

Sheesh.

As a super super super early wedding anniversary gift, guys say hello to...

BENTENCHO!

Cute? So. Freaking. Cute.....right?

We got her after work yesterday and poor little kitten, she's all scared and scratched Azrin like cray (because she don't want to be in the carrier) but after a couple of hours she got all manja already. Aww.

Why Bentencho?

Bentencho is the name of a place in Japan that Azrin and I kept getting lost in, like every single day. So one day I said "Asyik Bentencho je. Nanti when we get a cat, we are naming him/her Bentencho k".

Heee.

Two Birthdays In A Day

Around this time of the year, it will be my time to celebrate the birthday of my two favourite Sofias. So this year I had to attend their celebration, both on the same day.

It was Little Sofia's birthday lunch first, so I was excited to see her, chase and squeeze her chubby cheeks. Hehe. It was also her cousin's birthday so 2 little girls' birthday.

One of the birthday girl got a makeup set for her present, so they had a make-up corner for the rest of the day.

"Nanti jadi macam Joker pulak" -Abang

So. Cute.

Happy Birthday Fa! Yes, Bobo and I both thought you were turning 6 and we were trying to proof your father wrong till we had to stalk your parents' facebook to see what year they went for their honeymoon (when you're older you'll understand why we had to hunt for that date)...so yeah, Happy 6th 5th Birthday Fa!!

At night it was Big Sofia's birthday dinner. Had to rush to Subang after work and only realised that I forgot to buy a birthday cake as we were entering the restaurant. Ran around looking for a cake shop and managed to get a cake for Sophie!

Fun dinner time. Chatting away. Little Lilly being obsessed with my boobs even after telling her many times that if she is thirsty, there's nothing there.

"Zouk la jom malam ni"
"Lilly's 1st birthday kita buat sana la jom"

-___-'

Happy Birthday Po! I'm expecting sushi dinner end of this month ya. Happy planning :)

Wedding

Hubby have been yapping away asking me to blog about our wedding last year. It is going to be our one year anniversary soon and here I am, procrastinating to blog. Haih, very shy lah *blush*.

So of course there were a few dramas here and there (I'm sure there are no smooth-planning weddings), till at one point my FB status was "Sayang, let's just off our phones and fly off to our honeymoon" a few days before the wedding.

Thank god Daddy does not have a FB account. Phewwww.

So the morning of our wedding, was our rehearsal with everyone. To be honest, I really didn't care who was going to be doing what, who was going to stand where...I just wanted to get it over and done with. I hoped that I could have fun that night, no dramas, end of wedding.

A few hours before the wedding, we reached the place to get ready with hair, make-up what not (dang, wedding make-up takes a loooong time). After hours, Azrin and I was excited to start the wedding and to go see everyone. A bit delayed (quite normal, I guess), and at last.....

Ok lah, enough pictures hehehe.

Honestly, Azrin and I had so much fun that night, we appreciate the fact that our friends, families, colleagues, ex-colleagues, schoolmates, exboyfriends/exgirlfriends (ngehehehe, don't worry, we cool!) came to celebrate our big day with us.

We apologize for any 'terkurang' and 'tersilap' on that night. Of course our wedding are not those grand grand ones so hope everything was fine on our small reception.

We would also like to thank everyone who helped. Azrin's aunties and uncles who helped with the planning and decorating, Azrin's cousins who helped perform amazingly (Zuleikha sang amazingly and Abbas, Laila and their friends played the band wonderfully). Also, thank you to my Dad, Stepmom, Abang and SIL for helping throughout the wedding (yes, that tall lady who sang is my Stepmom *proud*). Aunties, uncles, cousins, thank you so much for helping. Terima Kasih.

For those who came, thank you for attending our wedding. Love!

Visit

She was my family's helper for about 30 years. Now that my Daddy and stepmom have moved further, she had to quit because she can't ride her bicycle two hours away just to clean the house, no? She had been working with us since before I was born so yes, I did grow up with her.

Azrin was on the phone with her son one day and she grabbed the phone from her son and shouted "Lalaaaaa! Lalaaaa!"

Yes, she is the only person who calls me Lala. So I grabbed the phone from Azrin and talked to her. Within minutes, I was chilling in her house. Hehe.

She was so sad she did'nt have any muruku for me (best muruku ever!). We were gossiping and she was gonna cry at one point, that's when I told Azrin we should go now. You see, even my Daddy have never pukul me my whole life...but she...? Everytime I ate with my hand wrongly...definitely kena once on my hand, at one point I would prefer to eat with fork and spoon in front of her -___-"

Love.

Creativity Test

Two new interns started working today so of course I was trying to make their first day as fun as possible. Teehee.

Put them together with the other two interns, gave them a whole stack of magazines...

"Do something creative with it or you will fail your internship"

Well, they all laughed at my statement so clearly I have to be more garang. Haih.

From smiley face to KLCC, to klpac's logo, they were trying to do all sorts of images and ended up with LAM - Living Arts Magazine

"Haih, I told you earlier do LAM, don't want to listen. Habislah semua fail internship nanti".

Hehehehe as I'm writing this, now I kinda know why they like to put on earphones and listen to songs -___-"

Yay!!

So what's this LAM for?

Yes collect 10 headers of different LAMs and you'll get 2 free tickets for our internal show. Remember, only our shows ya!

Four Years

Valentine's Day today, many couples walking around holding hands, smiling, love everywhere in the air. When I bought flowers, people around must have thought "Aww such a sweet girl buying flowers for her boyfriend/husband (or both..kidding!)".

Nope. Just buying flowers for Mommy.

Four years ago, today, Mommy passed away so I usually spend my Valentine morning visiting Mommy's kubur, and since Azrin's late father's kubur is a few steps away from Mommy, we will both visit both of them together every year (keep forgetting to buy flowers a few days earlier before the price hike up triple the normal price -__-')

Can't believe its been four years, feels like yesterday. So many things I wish I can tell her, share with her. It's ok, I pray for her everyday, hope she is well there. As for Azrin's Dad, I did not get to meet him but from all the stories I've heard from Azrin and his family, sounds like an amazing amazing man. One day I'll get to meet him, Insyaallah.

Azrin and I always wondered if my mommy and his daddy would "lepak" together and talk about us since they are so close to each other..hehehe.

Love love to you, Mama and Babah.

Al-fatihah.

Fortune Cookie

Stepmom have been announcing how she's been craving for dimsum and since her husband don't eat them, no dimsums since she got married.

Luckily she have one amazing stepdaughter (haha!) who whatsapped her with a "jom dim sum..if abah don't like he can stay at home". Abang and SIL invited came along so of course Daddy followed since it was one of his few times to see his kids *evil smile*.

My first time in Dolly Dimsum. Quite good. Nice place. Not so good for Daddy, he was barely eating anything. Sure he tapau-ed Nasi Kandar on the way home. Haih.

As we were paying the bill, they gave us all fortune cookies!

Mine?

Amin.

Happy Chinese New Year everyone! Haiya..this year cannot get angpow already!
