Achievements

It was the last working day for the year yesterday so Azrin and I decided to go out for dinner with some music, just talking about our achievements for this year.

Over a good piece of pie, of course.

Me: Hmm..I don't think I lost the weight I needed this year. Its ok, can start next year. Shall we order another cake?

Bahaha.

If you must know, Azrin and I are having new jobs now so we were very proud of each other for that. Enough about me, Azrin have been working with Bank X for a few years until one day Bank Y offered to buy him over. During that period, Bank Z also made an offer to buy him over from Bank X. As his wife, I was jumping up and down but I had to "keep my cool" just so he won't get too excited too. It was a hard decision and took a while for him to make and he decided with Bank Y.

He wanted to celebrate on his 1st day of work. I said no.

He wanted to celebrate on the day he got his 1st salary. I said no.

At one point he thought I was being bitter and not happy for him. He has no idea how excited I was and how proud I was of my husband and his achievements but I did explain to him that we should not celebrate too early for something as he might get hurt in the future. You've got to be real, no?

"Why don't we have a nice dinner once you get confirmed. Or a bonus. Hehe"

I think it is important as the other half to be the support system of the other one. Between Azrin and I, I may look like the chirpy and bimbotic one, but if you are close to us, you would know how serious I am with things. Haha. It even scares Azrin sometimes.

Haih.

We are super proud of our achievements this year. Hoping to get another house next year and to travel around.

Insyaallah.

Happy New Year!

Sibling Bond

I've been so sick this week, with the flu and everything..urgh. Oh and the throat! At times I just felt like putting in my car key in my mouth all the way to the throat, and scratch that itch out. Fuh. All thanks to Daddy for spreading his germs to his princess!

Also a heartbreaking week as I lost my uncle and its been so hard to see how Daddy had to deal of losing another brother. Depressing. Daddy's been really sad especially when he can't take a last look at his brother because my uncle passed away while performing his umrah.

"Dik, you know what saddens me most is that when Ami Alim was in KLIA before flying off, he called me to come over to see him. Haih. But I was really sick so I said I'll see him when he gets back. Haih.."

How much one sibling love another.

...which leads me to our last birthday of the year, Abang!

See what Azrin and I got for him!

Hehe. Abang is all about Taylow Swift, yaw!

Happy 37th to my one and only brother! Yes, as siblings, we are not suppose to say we love each other but yes, I do look up to you in every way I could.

The Next One

One of Azrin's brother turned a year older so they we all planned a super quick dinner where everyone rushed from work through the crazy traffic just to celebrate the birthday of the youngest one.

...and also the last one to arrive but we shall let that one go this time, ey..

Sorry Ashraf, your two SIL decided to get you that (we don't even know what that was!) as your birthday cake but treat ourselves with a super yummy cream caramel.

Ngehehe.

I thought it was a good catch up with the in-laws, updating everyone on life. Yes we don't do that very often as you can see since I blog on everything I do.

So...for you guys that are not rapat with us, among the three brothers, who is number 1, 2 and 3 (age wise of course!)?

I remembered when Ashraf called Azrin one day and said "Ajin, err..can we meet. I want u to meet someone". Azrin and I looked at each other, and while he was doing the phone interview, I was in the back shouting "OMG! when's the wedding? Nak buat baju colour apa nanti?"

Fast forward a few months, and we malays call it "masin mulut" or something like that and a couple of weeks ago Ashraf and Belle we having dinner with us and out of nowhere they said "Oh we are getting married!"

All Out

She was back again for a week and maybe next month too because Melbourne-KL is just like Perlis-KL for her so I guess I don't need to get that excited right? (haha!)

Remember the time when I was admitted in the hospital and had to do everything by myself? Well, Azrin decided to finish up his leaves and take a long weekend off when Azaliya came back.

*rolls eyes*

We double dated and went for a karaoke session a day before she flew back.

Rule of the day : No english songs! Hehe. Yes, you can imagine the amount of dangduts and Awie songs being played throughout the session.

..and here is our Amy Mastura Dance!

Beauty and The..

Azrin and I invited ourselves to Little Niece's concert last week at dpac and she have been talking about her role in in Beauty and the Beast for months now so of course I wouldn't miss it for the world!

..but the whole show was so entertaining, guys! One kid ran off the stage once he saw the parents, one little boy screamed and ran towards Elisa with a giant fork in the middle of his performance and another guy just went and kiss a girl out of nowhere (I swear that girl almost cried!).

Respect for all the teachers for handling all the little kids! Must be cray backstage.

So Little Niece was also part of a dance show of Barbie Girl. Wait, let me post a short video.

Heh. Smile, Fa. Smiiillleeeeee!

Proudest moment was when she won an award.

*teary*

She's a big girl now, no more kindy *sobs*.

Carbonara Cravings

When your girl calls you up and says "Hey, we're coming over. Cook for us ya".

What do you say?

You say "Can, but get your pregnant butt here and cook with me"

Sarah have sudden cravings for pasta. Either that or she just feels like getting food poisoning since she knows I can't cook to save my life. There I was standing in front of my refrigerator and all I could here is the cricket sound in my head.

She came over and the cooking started. It was like a warzone in my tiny kitchen. If it was not for that little baby in her tummy, I'm pretty sure someone would've been stabbed by a fork.

"Lala! You are burning the chicken"

"Cik P, take the tissue and wipe the beef"

"Kecik kan the api!"

"Keep the api big!"

"Get out of my kitchen"

Rais and Ruqqie was ignoring us and when Azrin got back from work and joined them, I guess the boys were trying to stay as far away from the girls. Dinner was supposed to be at 7-ish, but we managed to get it done at...9pm!

*shakes head*

Sorry boys, you guys are kinda stuck with the isteri you've chosen now.

Itu lah, masa muda orang suruh belajar masak, kita keluar party.

It was a great dinner though. Hectic, but fun.

To Sofi and Bing, I know you guys are reading this. It was super last minute, but trust me you guys did not miss anything. I mean come on, I cooked the pasta, kut! I don't know if Lala survived my cooking (haha!). Maybe we could make this a monthly thing with all of us?

What say y'all?

Saturday Night

Azrin and I went to meet up with Sofia and Hazren so while Sofia and I were in the saloon gossiping and laughing around, the boys were walking about outside with Little Lilly. The feedback I got from my super perasan Azrin..

"B, I was wondering why there were a few guys smiling and maybe even kenyit mata at Toin and I, I mean two good looking guys walking around with a comel little girl in the middle who is holding hands to the two men. No wonder la they were all smiling".

-_________-"

We all decided to have dinner at this restaurant owned by one of our famous chef (although we did have to explain and show pictures about him to this one person *looks at Azrin*), Chef Zubir.

The food? Honestly...mehhh.

Not just mine, but I think all of our food was just so-so. Hazren's steak did not look like the picture, at all! Gorgeous place but not the food.

Azrin and I lepak-ed at Sofia's for a little while to test out a microphone that Hazren just bought (hehe) before heading home. Just like old times, except now we have Lilly playing masak-masak with Azrin, and we were all yawning (well I was!) by midnight. How did we lepak sampai pagi back then?

Haih.

Escape

Helena is back! For good! *fireworks*

So while we were celebrating here coming home over lunch *waves at Ashwin because I know you are reading this dude* and having Helena giving Azrin and I both "the look" as she ate her salad and Azrin and I were munching on our unhealthy meals (I don't know why I'm friends with all these doctors), we were planning on what to do for the day. Besides gossiping.

..so I've been wanting to do this Escape Room thing for a while now but when Azrin said ok for the two of us to go i would just change the topic. At lunch, when we were talking about going I said to Azrin "B, now there are two smart people, so got chance la, so jom!".

Hehe.

Escape room- they lock you up in a room, you got to solve a bunch of puzzles and cases..to escape!

Azrin : Eh, we pick the hardest one lah!

-______-'

Pfft.

We lost *looks at Azrin*, but I think we did outsmart the staff and they got a tad confuse and had to ask a few questions

Staff : Eh, How did you guys get to this side?
Me : Magic

Staff : Err, how did you open the door?
Me : Magic

Staff : Hmm..was it smokey when you guys came in just now?
Me : No?
Staff : Oh. How come?
Helena : How should we know?
Staff : *went to on the smoke machine to make the puzzle solving journey harder for asthmatic people*

Super fun, though!

HK Trip- Touristy Stuff

It was just a short trip for us but I guess we went to all the "Must Go" places except for Disneyland (because you know how Azrin is scared of all those shannanigs and it would be a waste of time). My opinion, it was super easy to travel around HK because one, their MTR system is super super efficient and they have stations everywhere! You don't need to take a cab or rent a car to go around. Two, it was super easy to talk/ask things around as almost everyone speak english. Phew. All signboards were in english. Compared to Japan, so much easier to travel around in HK. We didn't even need google *flips hair*.

1. Victoria Habour & Symphony of Lights
Here we could see an amazing view of the other side of HK and at night they have light show with all the buildings. We were there early, walked around and waited for the light show at 8pm. Gorgeous.

2. The Peak/Sky Terrace 360
We went up to this really high spot where you can see everything. Had to take this old school tram up, needed to wait about two hours to buy the tickets (if you plan to go, please buy the tickets online before even flying to HK). It was already evening by the time we got up there, super windy. We thought it was windy because we were so high up, little did we know it was a sign that a second typhoon was coming. Azrin is afraid of height and he was getting a panic attack up there, so I had to calm him down, deal with the wind, deal the number of people pushing others to take pictures, so we didn't really spend a lot of time up there. As we were waiting for the tram to go back down, things were starting to fly around, Azrin had to hold on to me (see, its good to have a chubby wife, huh?) and everyone were freaking out because they don't want to get stuck up there because if the typhoon were to get worse, they could not operate the tram to send us back down.

3. Madame Tussauds
This was one of the reason I wanted to go to HK. I mean...Koo Tin Lok, hello! Its ok if I can't meet him in real life, meet his patung also can. I was grinning away as we were walking in and Azrin said "Yes yes, you'll meet your Koo Tin Lok soon, sheesh!". Love. That photo shall is by my bedside now. Well, Azrin was this close to taking Maria Sharapova back home with him so I guess we're fair. Haha. I was expecting the place to be filled with people and you have to wait hours to take picture with each "celebrity" but surprisingly it was not too bad. Just about one minute wait. Lots of fun!

Other than that we went to all sorts of street markets, randomly went to places we thought looked cool (not knowing what it was) and just walk around.

...that's it for my HK trip. Where to next?

Just A Piece of Paper

Last week as Azrin and I were stuck in the morning traffic, the topic that was on the radio was "Would you date someone with higher qualification than you?" and we both looked at each other and smiled. It is an interesting topic, really. Most of the girls that called in said they won't because they would only date someone smart and most of the boys also said they won't because it would be pretty intimidating.

Yes, it is everyone's personal opinion but for me, I see the potential.

When Azrin and I started dating almost a decade ago (gasp!), we were both studying but things can't always go your way. When I had my degree, all he had was his SPM, but I saw the potential in him and yes the super garang girlfriend (hehe) who kept pushing him. See, it did not cross my mind to push him away just because I was more "qualified" than him.

What your other half could do is, use your qualification to encourage him positively towards achieving the same level (if not more) instead of playing the whole Regina George to them. Even without the qualification, the whole time we were working he have been earning way more than me which makes me super proud of him and made me realise that the "qualification" that I have is just a piece of paper.

Almost ten years later, from nothing, he his bypassing me as he is now doing his masters and he told me "one day I will do my phd".

Amboi.

You see guys, all you need is to seek help from God, work hard, lots of experience, somebody by your side the whole time to keep encouraging you and a pinch of luck. After all, the certificate you receive is just a piece of paper.

Just my two cents.

What To Get Him

It was Daddy's birthday last week and of course the hardest question for us all would be "what to get him?". I was discussing the present thing with Azrin for a whole week and we really ran out of ideas. I didn't want to get him anymore clothes because if you see his closet...haih AND  there will will be more, occupying two other rooms. Filled with his clothes. The irony, since he will be at home most of the time in his kain pelikat and no baju.

*shakes head*

I remembered when I was living with him he would membebel to me saying that I have to many clothes, I shop too much, buying unnecessary things, but I will just point at rows and rows of his clothes but his reply would be "oh, but at least i wear all my baju, i don't waste them". Right.

All good for him after I got married so his can chuck his clothes in my room and continue shopping and everyone live happily ever after, no? Haha. Unfortunately, the person I got married to...its been two years and his clothes have occupied two rooms! Two! Sometimes he will say things like "B, can I tumpang this dekat your place, my closet no space"

*smoke coming out of ears* Whyyyyyy??

Anyway, I did not get Daddy clothes although Azrin did try to talk me into getting him one and we went for his birthday celebration and of course karaoke! It is like a must since we have great singers in the family.

No shyness in this family. You gotta fight for the microphone ya. I mean, that is the only time you can show your Adele voice, duh!

Happy Birthday Abah!

HK Trip- Food

One thing I learned from my past trips with Azrin is to plan everything properly since almost every country we went, the moment we wanted to travel around or look for food, we would just stand in the middle of the city, looking around and..*crickets*

So before the trip, everyday after work and before I go to bed, I will properly google and plan every single thing. Yes, Azrin might be ocd in packing, but in planning a trip, I still hold the trophy *flips hair*. He was impressed throughout the trip.

*bows*

Haha.

I googled a list of all the halal chinese food in hk and we planned to try every single one of them. Dim sum, duck rice, goose, wanton noodle, everything.

So yummy!

My favourite is obviously the dimsum. We went to the place twice, wanted to have them for the third time and rushed through the wind and rain only to find out it was closed due to the typhoon *cry*.

I think it is good to eat their food when you travel to another country. I mean, that is the whole point, right? By the end of the trip, it was chinese food overload for the both of us.
