To Siem Reap

Alright its been almost 2 months since I went to Siem Reap, but I have not switched the laptop on for a very long time (we really need more than 24 hours in a day) until today, all thanks to the long weekend.

It was a super short trip to SR, which was enough for me considering there is really nothing much to do there. Pretty hard to find halal food, but I do love the selection of local dishes!

Honestly, there wasn't anything much to do there, tourist-y wise, so a three-day trip was just nice to me. Just nice to roam around, chill, do a little shopping and well, do tourist-y stuff! Haha.

Their main attraction is of course, Angkor Wat. The moment we got off the plane, people were promoting and asking us to go see it. We decided to do it on the second day since it will take "a whole day". Again, we took 1-day trip instead of the 3-day trip, which is the best decision I made on that trip because I thought I needed a new pair of legs at the end of that day. So. Much. Walking. And. Climbing.

We did ask the hotel to help arrange everything, and no, I did not go see their "sunrise" at 4am. I mean, its a holiday. I could be enjoying my sunrise on a unicorn under a rainbow with my new Chanel that I haven't bought yet- all in my sleep. Thanks.

So Angkor Wat is just one (the main one) of many pre-historic temples in SR. So with that 1-day tour, we covered about 6 temples and it will take about 7 hours to do that. We did have to take tuk tuk from one temple to another (all arranged by the hotel). So everything was easy.

Seriously, Azrin and I felt like we were in Temple Run. Only with many other players. Well, at one point Azrin felt like he is Jolie in Tomb Raider.

-____________-"

...if you guys plan to go, please bring lots of water. I enjoyed the whole thing but omg I was so tired from walking and climbing. Imagine 7 hours of climbing. It may be normal for some people, but my body was not happy.

That night we had a good massage (thank god for cheap massage!), and we got another one the next day haha!

For the rest of the trip, we were just chilling around town. Night markets, roaming around Pub Street listening to music. We do go to bars to enjoy their live bands and stuff while ordering snacks and water.

"B, these mat sallehs sure ingat kita tak betul sebab asyik order mineral water je"

Their beers are cheaper than water, so if you plan to drink up, go ahead! Haha!

Overall, I do enjoy SR. Quite a relaxing place for a short trip.

...oh yea, Happy Ramadhan everyone! Let's pray and hope we will all have a blessed Ramadhan..

What A Weekend

How was your weekend, guys?

I had quite a busy one, filled will celebration. And cakes! Azrin really needs to slow down on the sugar.

"Looks like you really did marry your dad, haha" -Azrin

*takes another slice of cake*

-_____-"

We went for Ruqqie's birthday first. Little kids running around and I was trying to stay as far as I could (haha!). I mean, the one baby I wanted to play with was Sarah's other child (just because she's a little baby and can't really run or move) but she screamed the moment I came close to her.

Haih

Sarah: She usually suka semua orang.
Me: ..but I'm her godmother..
Sarah: ..whos she's scared of..
Me: *looks at her smiling at other people* Oh well..

5 minutes later..

Sarah: Cik P! Don't scare my baby!

Haih.

On a plus side, if you see the pile of presents, the biggest one belongs to..me!!

Woot!

That evening Azrin and I went to have dinner with Sofia and family to celebrate our birthday. We even planned to get our own cake "since no one else would get us any".

"Life has come to this" -Sofia

Me: Sofi, this pregnancy you tak crave sweet stuff ke. By the way, that brownies dekat pavi. Hamaigadddd.
Sofi: I saw the picture! Dude, I pregnant ke, tak prenant ke, I will still crave sweet stuff.
Me: Yeah, tadi pagi pun Rais told me he is amazed on how Lala eat sweet stuff. Why am I friends with you people?

#friendsmaycausediabetes #notinagoodway

The next day, we attended a wedding. Beautiful wedding. I mean, can you imagine having a wedding surrounded by an amazing view.

Nice.

Awesome people. Yummy food.

*clap clap*

Preview

Oh I miss my blog!

We went for short trip to Siem Reap last week (our first time there!) and I realised I took more videos than pictures.

*crickets*

So let me try something..

Excuse the bad editing and everything (haha!)

So it was really fun and we did learn a lot from the trip.

- Bring sunnies and possibly a mask because we were on a tuktuk most of the time and Siem Reap is quite dusty. Sometimes we had to pull up our tops and hide our faces under it so that the dust won't go into our eyes/nose/mouth.

"B, kita ni dah macam orang bersalah keluar mahkamah dah.."

- There are no tall buildings in Siem Reap because they are not allowed to build anything taller than the Angkor Wat.

- Quite hard to find halal food, but their local cuisine is delicious!

Cakap Besar

The morning of CNY, Azrin was planning to spend his holiday shopping. Him. Not me. So before Mr. Rebecca Bloomwood here go cray exercising his credit card, I suggested to go up Genting. Just for fun.

We thought it would be crazy jam since it was the holidays but suprisingly, it was quite a smooth ride. A sea of people in red, everything was red. Beautiful. Felt a bit out of place, though. Had lunch, walked around and suddenly..

Azrin: Oh let's go on the cable car to GPO.

I looked at the hanging cable car, looked back at him all confused.

"Eleh, takkan tak berani kut? Haha"

In my head : Dia cakap aku tak berani? We'll see.

"Jom, sayang"

As we were hopping in the cable car, I purposely took the spot that was facing down (the scarier view).

A few seconds after..

"B, I can't.."
"Don't touch me with your sweaty palms!"
"Omg, what's happening?"
"Ooooh its like bergoyang B! Open your eyes! Open! Hahahahahah!"
"Noooooooo!"
"I think we are going to fall"
"Serious?"

-_____-'

What he would go through, for shopping.

Since I am such a thoughtful wife, I took the nicer seat when we were heading back, so he could smile and enjoy the view. I also offered my hand for him to hold (after he wipes off all the sweat).

Next time jangan cakap besar.

Off to Singy

...so where were we?

Yea.

Right after the whole engagement "ceremony" and a few bowls of my favourite kacang pol *drools*, the four of us decided to drive down to Singapore for a little while. You know, just to jalan-jalan. Well, let them celebrate their engagement and hello! It was towards the end of the day and Azrin and I havn't even had our 10-year anniversary kiss yet.

So let's just relax our minds..

We shall ignore the traffic at immigration. Haha.

Got so Singy and I dropped by my uncle's house for a while. Took a couple of pictures to make Daddy jealous.

After, Sofia, Azrin and I went for dinner. She brought us to this amazing naan place, where they have all sorts of naans and tosai. So yummy.

Delicious.

Met up with Ashraf and Belle back in the city, jalan-jalan with them for a little bit, dropped Sofia back and head back to JB.

*ignore the chaos at the immigration even though it was 3am*

Everytime I do this "head to Singapore for a little while", I will ask myself the same thing- why did not just sleep in Singapore?

Haih.

First Time For Everything

Azrin told me that his brother called him with mixed emotions to say "Ajin, can you come to JB to meet Belle's family?"

Of course. We would love to!

After much discussing, what was supposed to be our quiet anniversary day in, was the day Ashraf asked us to come down to JB. We packed our passports (because Singapore is just a snorkel away, haha!) and drove down early in the morning.

As we were reaching JB, got a "can you get a ring for me please" text from Ashraf.

What.

Me : Ash, did you not tell us something? Is there going to be a ceremony?
Ashraf : No no
Me : You sure? I'm in a short dress!
Ashraf : Yes
Me : Are you going to propose?
Ashraf : Ya

Azrin and I looked at each other. We have less than an hour to look for a ring. An engagement ring. In a state we are not familiar with. Not a way we imagined to spend our anniversary. We were walking in and out of ring shops and until we got one for him.

"B, the irony, we going in and out, surrounded by gold and diamonds everywhere, we've been together for ten years, you did buy something but just not for me. Such a sweet husband I have"

I could see smoke coming out of his ears. Haha.

As we were walking out, I told Azrin that it would not be nice to come empty handed especially if Ashraf is going to propose (however way he wants to do it), so we spent a little more time looking for some cookies and cakes. Off we go.

We reached Belle's house with her mom there. We talked but Belle was in the room.

In my head : Wait a minute, is this the traditional way?

When Ashraf was talking about proposing, Belle's mom was hinting to do it the proper way. I looked around, and I was the only woman from Ashraf's side.

Crap.

I took the red ring box. What do I say? What do I say?

...oh well, I did it. I think. They're engaged! I think. Err, Belle's mom accepted the ring, and it is on Belle's finger now so yeah, they're engaged!

*bows*

Congratulations Ashraf and Belle!

I am ready to have a son. Haha.

Azrin and I had to release the nerves, we went to enjoy some JB must-haves after.

*licks finger and bowl*

...and yes, Azrin gained 3kgs when we got back to KL.

Ok, I'll blog about our Singapore trip next!

A Whole Decade

Last week, Azrin and I turned 10 years.

All together- Woooaaahh.

My biggest achievement in this relationship is getting Azrin to gain 20kgs..and counting. He is now at the point where he is super concerned about his weight, yes because he's brother said "I don't want to be fat like Ajin"

Oh I can't stop laughing.

Anyway, we didn't get to do anything much (read: holiday) since I am still under probation so it would not be nice to take a long long leave, right?

10 years. I never thought I could last this long with a boy. Give and take is very important. Well, he said he have to do more giving because I'm a brat *rolls eyes*, but yes, we did start off like a roller coaster. Gaduh everyday, "break up" every week, scream at each other non stop but as we get older.....maybe we have no energy to fight anymore. Haha!

For some people it might be "just 10 years" but for it is definitely a something for us. We were there for each other through graduation, when my mom passed away, all the family issues, medical issues, supported each other's careers. Then came getting married and living together, saving money to travel and buying a house. Laugh, cry, everything together.

...and its already a whole decade.

I don't think I will spend it with anyone else. Maybe I should start expressing it more to him now.

Maybe.

Happy Anniversary!

New Girl

Sarah popped out a little girl for a while now but since I've been sick and I did not want to spread my germs to her and little baby so I had to wait for a couple of weeks till I get to visit her daughter.

Felt better last week and what better way to spend my new year than to visit baby Ilyana Omeira!

Bite her cheeks.

It is scary that she looks exactly like Sarah. Like 100%.

Azrin and I bought her first few pink clothes of course. Will get her first pair of heels soon *flips hair*

While Sarah and I were chatting away, Azrin was just next to the baby lecturing away.

"Baby girl, when you grow up nanti, don't be so wild like how your mom and Aunty Shepie were last time tau. Be nice k...but then again, I don't think we all would be worry because your daddy would hambat you with a broom if you even think about doing something you're not suppose to. Faham tak? Good. Tapi kan, you're a girl. If you want to get something, just use your charm. Your "Daddy's girl" charm. Sure your Daddy cair"

Hmm.

Congratulations Rais and Sarah!!

Achievements

It was the last working day for the year yesterday so Azrin and I decided to go out for dinner with some music, just talking about our achievements for this year.

Over a good piece of pie, of course.

Me: Hmm..I don't think I lost the weight I needed this year. Its ok, can start next year. Shall we order another cake?

Bahaha.

If you must know, Azrin and I are having new jobs now so we were very proud of each other for that. Enough about me, Azrin have been working with Bank X for a few years until one day Bank Y offered to buy him over. During that period, Bank Z also made an offer to buy him over from Bank X. As his wife, I was jumping up and down but I had to "keep my cool" just so he won't get too excited too. It was a hard decision and took a while for him to make and he decided with Bank Y.

He wanted to celebrate on his 1st day of work. I said no.

He wanted to celebrate on the day he got his 1st salary. I said no.

At one point he thought I was being bitter and not happy for him. He has no idea how excited I was and how proud I was of my husband and his achievements but I did explain to him that we should not celebrate too early for something as he might get hurt in the future. You've got to be real, no?

"Why don't we have a nice dinner once you get confirmed. Or a bonus. Hehe"

I think it is important as the other half to be the support system of the other one. Between Azrin and I, I may look like the chirpy and bimbotic one, but if you are close to us, you would know how serious I am with things. Haha. It even scares Azrin sometimes.

Haih.

We are super proud of our achievements this year. Hoping to get another house next year and to travel around.

Insyaallah.

Happy New Year!

Sibling Bond

I've been so sick this week, with the flu and everything..urgh. Oh and the throat! At times I just felt like putting in my car key in my mouth all the way to the throat, and scratch that itch out. Fuh. All thanks to Daddy for spreading his germs to his princess!

Also a heartbreaking week as I lost my uncle and its been so hard to see how Daddy had to deal of losing another brother. Depressing. Daddy's been really sad especially when he can't take a last look at his brother because my uncle passed away while performing his umrah.

"Dik, you know what saddens me most is that when Ami Alim was in KLIA before flying off, he called me to come over to see him. Haih. But I was really sick so I said I'll see him when he gets back. Haih.."

How much one sibling love another.

...which leads me to our last birthday of the year, Abang!

See what Azrin and I got for him!

Hehe. Abang is all about Taylow Swift, yaw!

Happy 37th to my one and only brother! Yes, as siblings, we are not suppose to say we love each other but yes, I do look up to you in every way I could.

The Next One

One of Azrin's brother turned a year older so they we all planned a super quick dinner where everyone rushed from work through the crazy traffic just to celebrate the birthday of the youngest one.

...and also the last one to arrive but we shall let that one go this time, ey..

Sorry Ashraf, your two SIL decided to get you that (we don't even know what that was!) as your birthday cake but treat ourselves with a super yummy cream caramel.

Ngehehe.

I thought it was a good catch up with the in-laws, updating everyone on life. Yes we don't do that very often as you can see since I blog on everything I do.

So...for you guys that are not rapat with us, among the three brothers, who is number 1, 2 and 3 (age wise of course!)?

I remembered when Ashraf called Azrin one day and said "Ajin, err..can we meet. I want u to meet someone". Azrin and I looked at each other, and while he was doing the phone interview, I was in the back shouting "OMG! when's the wedding? Nak buat baju colour apa nanti?"

Fast forward a few months, and we malays call it "masin mulut" or something like that and a couple of weeks ago Ashraf and Belle we having dinner with us and out of nowhere they said "Oh we are getting married!"

*fireworks*

All Out

She was back again for a week and maybe next month too because Melbourne-KL is just like Perlis-KL for her so I guess I don't need to get that excited right? (haha!)

Remember the time when I was admitted in the hospital and had to do everything by myself? Well, Azrin decided to finish up his leaves and take a long weekend off when Azaliya came back.

-___________________-"

*rolls eyes*

We double dated and went for a karaoke session a day before she flew back.

Rule of the day : No english songs! Hehe. Yes, you can imagine the amount of dangduts and Awie songs being played throughout the session.

..and here is our Amy Mastura Dance!

Beauty and The..

Azrin and I invited ourselves to Little Niece's concert last week at dpac and she have been talking about her role in in Beauty and the Beast for months now so of course I wouldn't miss it for the world!

..but the whole show was so entertaining, guys! One kid ran off the stage once he saw the parents, one little boy screamed and ran towards Elisa with a giant fork in the middle of his performance and another guy just went and kiss a girl out of nowhere (I swear that girl almost cried!).

Respect for all the teachers for handling all the little kids! Must be cray backstage.

So Little Niece was also part of a dance show of Barbie Girl. Wait, let me post a short video.

Heh. Smile, Fa. Smiiillleeeeee!

Proudest moment was when she won an award.

*teary*

She's a big girl now, no more kindy *sobs*.
