Raya 2015

Morning of Raya. Could smell freshly cooked food downstairs. Woke up, showered, hair & make-up, baju raya - excited for raya. Even though raya-ing in KL, but whatever, let's just enjoy, no?

...only to realise everyone in the family was sick. Party poopers.

Raya-ing at my house, then went beraya with Azrin's family. Also visited my mommy and Azrin's daddy (its a blessing that their kuburs are located close to each other, al-fatihah to both of them). Rest of the day, waited for people to come over and beraya,

                                                              Geng tak muat camera

Haih, yearly raya routine - by the end of Day 1, tummy will start feeling weird, from the shock of all the food that went in after a month of fasting.

Hope you guys had a blast, too.

Right now, I have no voice and my blocked nose is not helping either. This is what you get for laughing at those people who were sick.

Kerinting

Its our last day of puasa. Alhamdulillah, everything went well this month. Kinda sad saying goodbye to Ramadhan but on a brighter note..Raya!

Shafiqah and I were talking about how we used to spend raya together when we were younger, but now I celebrate raya in KL while she will be in Johor. We talked about all the drama we girls did when we were little throughout raya..every.single.year.

So much fun to be with aunties, uncles and cousins back in Johor. You see, one thing that orang dulu-dulu did when it was raya, weddings, birthdays or any sort of celebrations - they went to go kerinting rambut. I don't understand the connection between celebrations and hair curling, but we did it!

Shafiqah and I were probably 11 and we would go through all the trouble to go to the freaking salon to curl our hair on Raya morning. We had no driving license and our Duit Raya were probably not enough for cabs (we had to pay for the curling too!) so we would take the beca! Y'all probably wonder why didn't we just ask our parents to drop us off right..?

Here's why - Our parent did not know about us going to the salon. We thought we were grouwn ups, that we didn't have to report our whereabouts. Oh dear, you can only imagine what happened as soon as we got off that trishaw with our curly hair, huh? Hehe.

As we were talking about this the other day, we both looked at each other (a very very familiar look) and suddenly we found ourselves doing our hair! Just to bring that feeling back. Don't worry, we both did not curl our hair. We just had to do something before she heads back to Johor.

"Fi, malam ni kena tidur duduk la..rambut dah keras"

"Rambut raya gituuuu"

Selamat Hari Raya!! Have a lovely lovely Raya!

Break It

A few more days of puasa and its going to be raya! *dances*

Back to going for lunch, buying nasi lemak for breakfast, no more mcd drive-thru in the middle of the day (hehe!!). Can't believe a month have passed by. With all that fasting..nope, haven't lost a single pound *throws weighing scale out the window*

Been quite a busy month, see I didn't blog at all! Have been baking the cookies thingy almost everyday after buka puasa (I still have a few more orders to go and its gonna be raya soon! Darn!).

Last week managed to go for buka puasa with friends. My super busy friends. Haih.

1. Helena introduces her boyfriend to us.

Well, Helena said her boyfriend is this shy and quiet guy.....pfffttt. Had so much fun lepaking with them, and no he is not shy nor quiet. Well most of the time I was just questioning Helena medical stuff (why bother going to hospital when there are 2 doctors in front of you, right?).

2. Gold Chilli with the gang.

...minus Sarah. Oh my goodnees, it was so crowded in there, everyone could hardly breathe. Thank god for the amazeballs Butter Chicken.

Ok, gotta do continue baking. Just in case I'll be too busy til raya....

Selamat Hari Raya. Maaf Zahir & Batin.

Memory Lane

Last Saturday Daddy wanted to go back to his hometown so I wouldn't miss the chance to balik with him. Azrin, Shafiqah and myself decided to teman him. Aww, roadtrip!

Daddy and Shafiqah wanted Azrin to drive because they trusted his driving, not mine. Pfffttt hello! I was the one teaching that boy how to drive when he got a car back then. Sheesh. Also, Daddy picked my car for us all to travel in. I thought he was joking when he said it a day before, but it got awkward when I laughed but he looked at me weirdly. Oh...he's serious. Out of all the cars at home, he picked my teeny tiny not-so-stable car. Lols.

We reached Muar in the afternoon and teman-ed Daddy do a couple of things here and there before went back to the house to chill before buka puasa. You see, Azrin, Shafiqah and I followed because we just love love love food in Muar -  murtabak, rojak, asam pedas, everything *wipes drool*

While Daddy slept, Shafiqah and I were walking around the house, reminiscing old times - how we used to walk around the whole neighbourhood during raya, play mercun and see who had the most amazing mercuns among the neighbours, all the dramas that happened during every family gathering, oh and showed Azrin where Shafiqah and I used to errrr..poop together when we were little hahaha. Its sad because all my life I spent my raya there, only the past 7-9 years I have been celebrating my raya in KL because everyone have their own family and stuff already.

Sad.

My Aunty, cousins and niece came over to join us for buka, and later on my uncle joined. Everyone lepaked for a while before we head back to KL. Not before we made a little detour to Melaka. Azrin, Shafiqah and I have been craving for Pak Putra's naan for months and at last....!!!! *dances*

Traffic to head out of Melaka was hell though, but whatever since Azrin was the driver. The 3 of us were already snoring away before we reached the toll. Hehe.

Coming Back

Woah, I took a 3-day break from work the other day just to give myself a little rest (got bored after the 2nd day) and at first I wanted to drag Azrin to Melaka because I was craving for my favourite cheese naan and butter chicken..but we were thinking of the whole school holiday shannanigs and the traffic back would be hell, we cancelled the thought.

What did I do instead?

Watched this new series - Sense8. Got hooked. It was awesome! I mean, the storyline....fuuuh! I love those kind of shows where you need to think throughout and it got more complicated as the episodes move on. Crazy. Imagine 8 people in 8 different cities in the world could sense each other, talk to each other, help each other..but just among themselves. Well, I shall not spoil it for you. Highly recommended.

Puasa month is in a day, Azrin and I started doing samples for something we have done for the past 4 puasa/rayas..

Our Honey Kokoflakes!

Alhamdulillah every year more people buy our HK (we even had to turn down some orders last year oops) and we hope this year would be better. We've got our regular customers, got a few orders already, so thank you so much to those who have been supporting us. Love y'all!

With everything around us having their price hiking up, we are still maintaining our price. Just for you!

RM18 for a balang of 25. Buy 10 free 1.

Let me know if you want any yeah! It's amazeballs to even just ngap ngap ngap while watching TV. Hehe.

Thank you and have a lovely Ramadhan everyone!!

Four Girls and A Sugar Glider

My parents are not big fans of pets, so I grew up without no cats, hamsters whatsoever at home. So I could only play with animals when I was at friends' house (because my dad's siblings are all not aminal lovers too -_-') or a petting zoo.

Shafiqah and I had a day off last week, so she came over to play with Little Niece. Her sister came and she brought her little sugar glider. I was excited to see what Daddy's reaction would be. Yes, he sat far and away from us and the sugar glider. Haha.

Since we wanted to give Daddy back his freedom to his own home, we took Sofia and the sugar glider out to the mall for some shopping.

See, the sugar glider was in the little handbag Little Niece was carrying around. So freaking cute!

Shopping was fun. Had ice cream. Everything was good, until our Little Niece saw Hamleys..oh no!

Ngehehe maybe they Aunts had a little more fun.

Anyway, I'm thinking of getting a sugar glider for Daddy and Stepmom (more scared of animals than Dad, btw). What say you? Awesome right?? Gahaha!

Lelaki 2.5

How did I spend my Friday night? I dragged Azrin to come watch this little sort of concert in KLPAC by Lelaki 2.5

They're quite famous here so I know their talent, so I did'nt go and watch just because of my garang boss (hi Ian!) but I have seen them around and how hard everyone have worked to put this show together..so it must be a good show, right?

I was not wrong.

Wait wait, my photos, not so good. Also, I was having too much fun to be snapping away hehe. Let me curi some photos from Faridah.

See, even the setting - gorgeous! They made it into like a cabaret style with a teeny pink bar (don't worry they also serve orange juice and non-alcoholic wine!)

Talented singers, musicians and even the jokes they have in between....oh my god...perfect! Very laid back, even from my garang boss (hi again, Ian! haha).

They only have tonight and tomorrow left. Come watch ya! It'll be worth your RM40 (with a welcome drink). Remember, either tonight (8.30pm) or tomorrow (3pm). Come!! Seriously! Amazing!

For tickets/enquiries call 03-40479000. See you!

Why Lelaki 2.5?? You'll find out if you go to the show!!

Perfect Doorgift

I managed to cabut for a little while from work to go to Rais' reception last weekend, but I left before the bride and groom even arrived. Basically I came, ate, took the doorgift, salam-ed Rais' mom and left. Yes, kinda rude but I was late for work.

I whatsapp Sarah the next day..

Me : Lalat! the chocolate doorgift thingy..errrmygerddd! Amazeballs! So sedap. Ajin and I berebut dalam kereta :(

Sarah : Why did'nt you take more?

Me : Oi. Rais' mom gave one, takkan la nak ask for 5 -__-"

But seriously, it was so soft, gooey and chocolatey. 10 minutes after that, I got a call from her..

"Open the gate. Rais and I are outside..we have something for you hehe"

See..this is why I sayang her. Thought she was going to bring 1 or 2 but...lol.

Oh. So. Yummy. Selamat in my tummy already. Burp.

Thoughtful Nieces

Yesterday Shafiqah and I teman-ed Daddy visit his brother in IJN before he goes for a little surgery.

Daddy was already upstairs, Shafiqah and I were walking around downstairs (the cafes and coffee shops they have at IJN..seriously?!) we thought 'Eh we have to get something for our uncle!'

The people there must've been annoyed with us. Well, they did'nt look they have heart problem either. Those people with the name bracelet thingy were happily eating cake and sipping teh tarik *shakes head*

Get Well Soon!

Hehe. Don't they look alike?

Good Luck for your surgery today, Ami Alim! Tomorrow we go eat Nasi Lemak ok!

As we were leaving the hospital, it was raining heavily and I parked my car quite far.

Daddy : Adik, why don't you and Fifi go take the car and pick me up downstairs.
Me : It's raining *points out the window*
Dad : Its ok for you and Fifi to kena the rain. I can't.

Haih. My princess-y father.
