Ashiq's Bday Bash

Second birthday of the year!!

We were all feeling nice, so we planned another surprise (actually Sarah planned the whole thing, we were just there decorating the place).heh.

The Masterplan : Sarah bring him out shopping, while we sneak into his house, decorate and surprise when he comes back.

The Time : He was suppose to be back by 7 p.m.

You see, my friends are known for being fashionably late, so when the plan says he will be back by 7, we (the deco crew) will only leave home at 7.Or 720.

"La, you have to give us more time! Go walk around some more." -My text to Sarah for 20 times that day.

"We walked around Pyramid for four bloody hours. My feet are going to fall off" -Sarah.

At about 8 p.m...

SURPRISE!!!

Chilled for a bit, and we had dinner reservations at 9p.m.HAHA. Funny, that reservations was at 9, and we reached the restaurant at 11. Eh, at least we've got the whole place to ourselves.

Now, I helped pick a place (because Sarah obviously had a lot on her plate trying to make a guy shop for 4 hrs!), and it's..

Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous place. I have to admit, probably one of the most difficult place to find (that was also why we reached at 11).

Food?
...Ashiq and his thank you speech.

Him : Thank you *insert everyone's name on the table except his gf*. I cinta you all.
....that's a speech? Creepy, Ashiq. Notice that his looking a tad woozy and tingly?heh.
Of course, pictures with the little car. And, yes, Sofia really wanted to get in.

Happy Birthday Ashiq!

**
On a sad-er note, Sarah's father had passed away on Sunday. Girl, my prayers are with you. Be strong ok.

Vacay: Part 3, Tanned!

Most of the time of my vacation, I spent on the beach. Everyday, from 9am till 4pm. Yes, yes, afternoon sun is not good for the skin, yada, yada, but dude, I'm on a mission here!

*inhale Naomi Campbell, exhale Tyra Banks*

As much as I hate hot weather, and sweating, and life without aircond, I have gots to be the man and embrace the sun.heh.
Woke up at 7am everyday, excited for breakfast (most important and favourite meal of the day!) nothing more welcoming than the smell of Nasi Lemak when you get out of the lift. Oh, also how the Japanese spent 10 minutes bowing to each other before eating (one of the lady, who was probably 87 y/o, had white and purple streaked hair.So.Freaking.Cool).

......ah, breakfast with a spectacular view. Until a bunch of hairy indian men in hot pants came into the picture and played volleyball.Sexy.

So head to the beach after, sit under the sun, and let nature take over.
There was this building by the beach. It bothered me, because I think its crooked, and might fall on my face. Is it crooked?

Now, two days of direct sunlight and a bottle of tanning oil later..

Not much difference, really. I had tanlines (applause!), for about 2 seconds. Went to sleep. Woke up, and gone!

*bangs head on the wall*

I think I have sun-proof skin.

Vacay: Part 2, Food

*warning : if you are fasting, or on a diet, I advise you to step away.*

What is Penang most famous with?? Food right?

*drool*

Ok, lets start with Nasi Kandar. Aaaah, ikan kari, ayam kicap, teloq rebuih, kuah campoq. At first I wanted to eat at at least 8 different nasi kandar throughout my break. After the third one (Line Clear, Beratur, Union Street), I can barely hear the word 'Nasi Kandar' no more.

...until today, the sight of Pelita makes me sick. No more curry for a month, man.
Now, Mee Goreng Bangkok Lane. Even mom and dad asked me to 'tapau' back for them.

...its so nice, I ate there twice.HEHE.

OH OH OH!!! FRIED OYSTER!!!! *died*

HoMaiGad. Oyster+egg=fireworks. I want to marry that uncle.

What else did I eat? *thinks hard*

*browse pictures in 'Penang Trip' folder*

hah! Cheese Naan and Butter Chicken Masala.

Quite good, but I got freaked out at one point because suddenly there was a group of people on the streets marching and screaming things and was not wearing any shoes. I got scared that I hugged my handbag so tight (I really really don't know if it was a ritual thing or what, so no offense).

*buuuuuuuuuurrrrppppp*

Unfortunately I did'nt have time for Asam Laksa and Char Kueh Tiow. Also, did'nt know where to find good and Halal ones.

Three days is definitely not enough to suck in all Penang food.

Oldest one in the group

Beginning of the year will always not be king to my pocket. Most of my friends' birthdays are within the first 5 months of the year. Except Sarah's (that is why she would not get a surprise-because we were bored of giving surprises to people).

It was Hazren's 24th (eeeeek 24!NO!) Birthday yesterday, and Sofia planned a surprise party for him (he gets it every year.should expect it by now, huh).

Alright, I did'nt know how the surprise went, because I was fashionably late (really, blame crazy people going into Pyramid causing jam on LDP), but I heard he was surprised, indeed.

Was suppose to be there at 6, but I got there at 7.45. Got in the house..

"SURPRISE!!!!!!"

.................

*checks date*

?????

*cricket sound*

HAHAHAHA. jeez, guys. I know I was late....so all latecomers get a 'surprise'.

Place was beautifully done.cute.

Than comes the sing-blow-cut cake.

Cake was from CakeMess

....and present from his girl.

Sofia : It's a pillow for the car, with my name and your name embroided on it.Awwwww.
Me : That's freaking cheeseballs.
Hazren : *dissapointed look but trying super hard to smile, but still no smile came out*
'Gotcha'
It's a sleeping bag.You know, since he's a crazy camper. So he was super duper happy with the present.

Me : OMG claustaphobic alert. Why would you wanna sleep in that thing.
Sofia : It gets cold in the jungle
Me : Just check in the nearest hotel, jeez.

Pictures *flash* pictures *flash*

Happy 24th Birthday Totobo!!

Vacay: Part 1

For those of you who followed me on twitter, have probably know where I was for a short holiday.

Here's a hint..

.
.

.

.

PENANG!!!

Why Penang? Two Missions.

One. Since everywhere else in Malaysia is raining, I had no choice but Penang. Because I want the beach to get so tanned that Naomi Campbell looks like Edward Cullen next to me.heh.

Two. Eat until i look like the Nasi Kandar dude, and smell like curry. Mission accomplished.

Checked in, and was welcome by an amazing view..

So with this attached to me throughout the vacation, I did not get lost most of the time (I'm an excellent map reader now! Ok, it might be the GPS era but so what?heh).

Officially a tourist *wears weird hat, shorts, high socks, black bulky pouch around waist, comes out of a van, taking pictures of building and pretending to understand local language*

HEHEHE.

Stay tune for my gastronomical journey, my tanning process and TOY MUSEUM!
