Osaka Castle

Probably the last post for this year :)

One more place on every 'must-go' list we researched is Osaka Castle so we thought 'Ohhh must be something amazing!' so off we go

We reached the place and I don't see no castle anywhere *crickets*

Thereeee?? -____-' that looks far, but Azrin made me walk up to the castle.

It was a long way up. Walk, walk, stairs, walk, walk.

Oh half way there. Keep climbing up. They better be giving free Chanel bags up there.

......almost there...

At this point I was yapping away and Azrin was all the way in front. See, he was up there and I was almost giving up.

We reached the top and that place we were aiming for from the bottom is not even the castle! say-whaaaaa?

"B, kat depan sana is the castle. Gotta walk a bit more hehe"

*smoke coming out of ears*

Yes we got to the castle, it was dark by the time we reached up there. I was more interested in the stalls selling snacks. Sat and chilled for a while and in the end we decided not to go in the castle to check it out because we thought what if everything is in Japanese and we can't understand anything at all.

Happy New Years everybody!!

Kyoto

From the beginning Azrin and I assigned one day that we would go to Kyoto and spend a day there (because Tokyo was too far and pricey). We heard it was a beautiful traditional place compared to Osaka and Tokyo and yes, very laid back and the people walking around were not running like they're late for school.

As we were walking around enjoying the gorgeous city, we were in this little town that looked like old japanese movies - girls in kimono, old-style houses and I saw something that made me go whaaaaaaatttttt?

I can dress like a Geisha! Memoirs of a Geisha coming right up.

They dressing me up took a lot of time. With the communication barrier and all, I was getting bored. I was trying to start a conversation by asking more about geisha but google would be easier. They did tell me I was becoming a geiko and not a geisha. Still don't know the difference.

After what felt like 4 hours..yay! They rolled us in many layers of clothes and they really made us suck it in till we can't breathe and we can hardly walk. Fuh!

....and taking off the make up and clothes was another round of hell but it was all worth it. Had so much fun!!

Next time must spend a few days in Kyoto.

Around Osaka

Most of the time we were just walking around Osaka enjoying the place, but trying to get from one place to another..quite hard but after a few days, Azrin and I were getting quite familiar with the complicated train tracks.

I think it was on our 3rd day that we did not sesat for the first time and ended up somewhere that does not sound anything like where we were suppose to go (because we have to listen to the train guy's announcement which is in Japanese and try to hear if the location we want to head to is anywhere in his announcement).

"Fuuhh tak sesat lah today! Can move here already"

"Pfft I can apply job at the train station lah"

The next day we sesat again -____-"

Dotonburi

This area is a very busy area especially at night with big colour signboards everywhere. Many places to eat, shop or quite nice to just walk around to see different kinds of people.

Kuromon Market

It is near Dotonburi, and it is sort of their pasar with all sorts of food and is very cheap! Went cray with cheap sashimi there *burp*.

Abeno Harukas

Japan's highest building and we can go all the way up! Toppest floor - on the 60th floor, its 360 degrees top to floor all glass so the view is spectacular. Again I dragged Azrin up to something he's scared of. At first he did not want to go near the glass, but after a while..all good!

The floor below they actually made it into an open deck, so just imagine being about 300m up in an open surrounding. The wind...woahh! Awesome!

This I really recommend.

Aquarium & Ferris Wheel

When we googled "what to do in Osaka", most of the websites told us to to Osaka Aquarium so off we go.

It was huge! I have been to quite a number of these aquariums, I mean almost every country I travel to, sure have all this aquariums so I wanted to see how is this one different than the others.

Not bad, not bad. More than just fishes. Love that they divided the whole places to a few zones so you feel like you walk to a different parts of the world. I enjoyed it but nothing special.

When we got out of the Aquarium, we saw this HUUUUGEEEE ferris wheel, I looked at Azrin and smiled. He went pale. He's scared of heights, btw. Well if he can't accompany me to go on roller coasters, at least he was sweet enough to face his fear of heights and come with me on world's largest ferris wheel.

It was raining quite heavily, Azrin kept asking if it was safe -___-". Well it was kinda scary as you get to the top, because it is the shaky kind of ferris wheel - the higher you get, the more windy and shaky it gets, so Azrin was already closing his eyes and not moving at all.

Me : B are you ok?
Azrin : Can't talk

Me : B, look! The buildings are below us and so teeeeny!
Azrin : *silence*

Me : B, rugi lah you're not looking, the view is gorgeous!
Azrin : *silence*

Me : B, we're right at the top!!!! woaaaahhhhh!!
Azrin : *silence*

Its like going on the wheel with a mannequin.

Woah its already the final month of the year. How time flies and a lot had happened this year..good and bad.

Yesterday Azrin and I went to an orchestra performance, Classically Classical. I was excited to watch in and yes, 'twas amazing! They played old old classical pieces and they are the very romantically and relaxing ones. You know, like those background music of a romantic movie *holds Azrin's hand and head on shoulder haha*

USJ

We were both so excited to go to Universal Studios Japan that I even had a dream I was on a roller coaster the night before we went there. Azrin was talking about all the movies and how he went to all this shannanigs in US when he was younger..so I thought "Awesome! My husband the adrenaline junkie buddy"

Hmmmm...Don't go awwww just yet.

I was in awe walking around, thinking of what to go on first...the place is gorgeous! Big! So huge you would not know where to start, even with the map...and 1 day is not enough.

We started with the so-so ride like Spiderman, Terminator and Back to the Future. During the rides I realised Azrin was closing his eyes while I will be putting my hands high up and screaming.

After one of the ride..
Me : B, why did you close you eyes??
Azrin : Haiyoh scary lah..takut..I cannot la rides tinggi tinggi like that.
Me : Wha.....why are we here if you don't want to naik the rides?!?!
Azrin : We naik the kiddie kiddie ones la...hehe

*smoke coming out of ears*

There goes my dream to go on the Hollywood Dream *sob*

So we continued walking around and go on easy easy rides. Also it was raining the whole damn day, we were getting annoyed since we were both wet, cold and we did not bring an umbrella. Haih. And oh dear, that Harry Potter ride, you've gotta queue up for two hours...in the rain!!! Urgh.

Also, everything in there was in Japanese. I mean even Spiderman was speaking in japanese and for all the rides, the explaination was done in japanese (with no subtitles) so Azrin and I was just staring at the screen and we just followed what everyone around us did. This really spoilt our mood because for one of the rides we had to follow what the lady said and I could see that this mat salleh couple next to me was also annoyed and I gave them the "I know right" look. The least they could do is put freaking subtitles for all preview before the rides. Haih.

We tried to use up the tickets to the max but due to the rain and the language...after about 5 hours-ish, we left.

Don't get me wrong, i had a lot of fun there, but you just got to be extra patient and please go on days that does not rain. Hehe.

Just as we were walking out USJ...
Azrin : B, can we go to Disneyland Tokyo next?
Me : You can understand mickey mouse talking to you nanti?
Azrin : True.
Me : Plus, I will teman you if you teman me go on roller coaster. Deal?

When I came back to KL, I was telling my family about how Azrin's scared of roller coaster..
Stepmom : Your father also takut all this roller coaster
Elisa : Hmmm...your brother pun sama. When I naik roller coaster, Sofia yang teman me.
Me : At least you have a daughter to teman you. Nevermind, when we go US, we tinggal them at some coffee shop, and we ladies show them how to be berani..haha!
