Only one of my friend gave me a birthday card this year.
Touched. Mentally prepared to not cry and act macho after reading her long speech on how we knew each other since high school, and how I comfort her on her bad hair days, how we went to the same college and skipped class together. You know, mushy best-friend-y things. Was going to order a custom-made medal "Best Friend Award" to give to her...
*proud tears*
"The others did not gave me a card sheesh"
.......... and I flipped the card....

Review: The Vow
Guys, you have no idea what a hopeless romantic I am. Sometimes. Not my fault, I'm a girl. Hee.
Dragged Azrin to watch The Vow (with much persuasion) because I heard its as ohh-lala as The Notebook. I mean, come on, how do you expect a girl not to watch a movie that's "like The Notebook".
Duh.
....but my all time favourite hug-your-best-girlfriend-crying-a-river movie has got to be A Walk to Remember.
Died.
Something about having leukimia and having the whole school hate you I find sweet. Freaking hormones.
Anyway, The Vow was not as sweet, but still cried. There are some parts that was really touching, but some were just so-so. The guy was just so sabar to take care of his wife, who dont even remember him. And the way he tried to win her back.....
Sweet!
Go watch it guys! On a date. Ngawh.
I realised that there is a weird connection between being sick or any near-death experience with being in a romantic situation.

28th March
Woke up this morning, feeling excited.
...and realised I have to get ready for work. Since I'll be taking a long break next week to go to Krabi (woohoo!), this shall be the sucky price I've to pay (I'll be pushing it to take so many leaves this month).
Chanting to myself 'Next week, pretty beach. Next week, pretty beach'
As I was leaving for work...
Me: Abah, dinner tonight?
Dad: For what?
Me: *thought he was kidding* Dinner lah *smile*
Dad: Abang eh?
Me: .................
Dad: Pei pei?
Me: -________-"
"Its MY BIRTHDAY TODAY LAH!!"
*crickets*
OH YA!!!!! Ok. Dinner.
Sob.
Miserably went to work, suddenly the intercom thingy rang..
"Ms. Sharifah Fadilah please"
*blush*
Thank you, sayang!
First surprise. More to come, I hope.

40 days
Last weekend marked 40th day that mom left me. Left all of us. Did tahlil, and my eyes were close to shutting while reading the Yassin, I had no time (or energy!) to snap pictures
Except of Sarah and I. Of course.
Me: Now that you've come back from Umrah and stuff, you should keep this look
Sarah: I should, kan?
Me: ..but I dont think it goes with your mini dress and prostitute heels, though.
Honestly, this time there were more people who came than when we did the tahlil on Day 1 to 3!
..and those were the commotion last month. So imagine last weekend with double the number. People were fanning themselves with their yassins and tudungs. I apologise if there are anybody who came and was sweating cats. Some even had to sit on the kitchen floor. Sorry! I'll tell daddy to put 3 airconds in the kitchen ok.
...and of course, we were out of freaking food! Dad ordered food for 85 people, the caterer prepared food for about 90-95 people, and still we were out. We just know how to pick good food, huh? Everyone was saying it was finger licking delicious. Haha.
Anyway, I feel touched that there are so many people out there who came to sedekah some prayers for her, that there are still out there who cared for my family. Also only nice words and stories about Mommy was heard that night. I hope she could hear and see how much everyone loved her. Well, I love u Ma!
Thank you everyone who came by on Saturday. See you on the 100th day!

Little Big Birthday Girl
About a year ago, a beautiful teeny baby was born. She grew up to be this curly-haired, giggly, monsterous little girl whom we all love (no matter how many time she puked on my shirt just as I was walking out to go on a date).
First grandchild of my parents, first niece of mine, first kid of my brother and sister-in-law. Yeap, she gets to call dibs on all clothes and toys, while my poor children will get her stinky dolls with bite-marks. -___-
We had a little gathering for her big 1 and when I look at old photo album, all I had for my "big" 1 was a cake and a few karipaps. No fancy toys that beeps when poked, and definitely no udang masak lemak. Bet my brother had a feast (freaking eldest syndrome!). Little Sofia had food to feed the whole Somalia, pretty little dress and a tricycle!!
Oh. So. Jealous.
.......and she fell asleep right after she blew her 1 candle.
Here's a little somethin for Sofia:
"Pei-pei, I hope u'll grow up and be a beautiful, polite lady. Do well in your studies, dont let us all down. Get a good job and take care of your parents and grandpapa. I think you should be a cop because you're so brutal and just so you know, when you were 1y/o, you have slapped, kicked, punched, licked and pinched aunty adik. Maybe you'll find this blog in 30 years and if I'm old and nyanyuk, please know that i love you very-very much!"
Pei, if I'm 90 and living alone in front of the computer, and my life revolves around blogging and shopping online, please smack me.
Happy Birthday Pei-Pei!!
YES, I GAVE YOU THAT PEI PEI NAME EVERYONE'S CALLING YOU WITH! MUAHAHAHAHA.

Welcome to Life
Found a picture online while curi-tulanging at work (I would go crazy if I were to sit and do accounts non-stop ok!)
*lean back, feet on table, hands behind head, eyes shut, big smile*
.
.
.
.
.
.
Would'nt it be awesome to live like that everyday?
Wake up next to Chuck Bass, with gorgeous view of the ocean. Spend our day sun-bathing by the pool (because the beach is too public), sipping some fancy ice tea (I'm fine with mamak's teh o ais, really) while our private chef cooks us roasted lamb.
Bliss.
Ok, back to work. Back to reality. Back to having 9-6 job (I dont see why people call it a 9 to 5 job, such lies!).
Welcome back to reality.
Looking forward to the weekend. At home. In 40 degrees heat. No beach. No Chuck Bass.
Haha.

Review: 7 Petala Cinta
Been a while since I went for a midnight movie. Since nowadays my bedtime is 10pm (yes, wild girl I am), I pushed it a little bit by going for a movie date with Azrin just now.
I'm all for supporting the whole local movie scene shannanigan because I think we produce some pretty good movies these days. So I heard this 7 petala cinta is good (although I dont see much promo about it).
Its...different, I must say. Nothing great about the storyline nor acting but its just one of those movies with eye opening messages and its good to be reminded of these religious values while we're busy chasing Guccis and private jets.
No matter how bad our past is, there are always doors for repentence.
If God can forgive His people, who are we to judge others.
You don't determine if someone goes to heaven or hell.
People make mistakes, despite the 'serban' on their head.
There's a story behind everybody's actions so we should not make assumptions.
Masyaallah. Simple lessons that were taught since we were little and we know them at the back of our head but how we could just forget them in our daily lives. We see someone wearing sexy shorts, we whisper nasty remarks to our best friend. Additional dosa for us, more pahala for her. For all you know she have her lima waktu completed everyday, at least.
No. More. Gossips.
I guess the movie is a good wake up call. Different from other movies that's all about comedy or lust or those dramatic lovey ones. Just a little warning, this movie is a tad cheesy. Just the lines the use. I'm all about actions rather than words so that was kind of a bummer. Hee.
Rating 6/10.

Prize Cake
You know what a Twit whore I am, right? FYI, @SharifahFadilah, do follow :) heh. Anyway, about a month ago I won some contest on Twitter through @ttditv. I mean I was born in ttdi, for god's sake (that clinic on top of Pasaraya next to CIMB) so who could be more qualified than me *flips hair*.
I have been trying for a year plus and finally this is the first time I won something. Major fail.
I forgot about my prize until I got a text from Azrin "Eh, when r u claiming your cake?"
Since I just got back from work and my tummy was singing like Adele, so off I go 2 mins away from my house to claim, what I thought was a piece of cake.
Boy, was I wrong.
Five. Five! There goes my imaginary diet.
Brownies, Red Velvet, Sticky Date, Carrot, Mars Cheesecake. Because I'm allergic to vegetables (because I accidentally ate a teeny piece of cabbage and I got all itchy and feverish) that carrot cake, I gave to my maid. Hee.
Delicious! All of 'em. Mars Cheesecake- to die for!
Y'all drooling yet? Head to Souka/Mukha in ttdi (near my house!), and yes, give me a call when you're there so I'll come menyibuk and steal your brownies hee.
Ok, sugar high. Bye *skips around house*
Thanks Souka!

She's 25!
Now that I'm working full time, I appreciate my weekends like you have no idea. Like for the next 4 weekends, I;m pretty much booked! Bummer. Dont even have time to wax them eyebrows. Now I know why accountants look like..well, accountants! Eek.
So last weekend my girl turned 25! Between calculating taxes, issueing invoices, chasing customers for payments, I managed to squeeze some time helping out in organizing a surprise for her (thank you, inventor of Whatsapps and BBM). Plan was to surprise her at her house when she comes back from hiking Saturday morning. I was sound asleep Friday night/ Saturday morning when got a call from Sofia at 4.30 am, crying.
"Its my birthday, I dont want to hike. All I want is a slice of cake"
"....its ok, Sofi. Goodnight"
I dont even know what I said to her.
Hazren texted everyone that they'll be home at 11 am.
They came back back at 2.30. I could've slept, damn it! Things I do for my friends. Haih.
SURPRISE!
"We've been waiting since 10. Starving. Can we eat. Yeah yeah, happy birthday whatever" *grabs a slice of pizza*
At night was the real celebration. Went to The Bee, Publika. Bad service. Waited 2 hours for a glass of ice water. Food was so-so. Thank god for awesome company.
Look what Sarah, Farah and I got for birthday girl!
Perfume: Britney (the one Azrin and I got her), JLo, Paris Hilton. Cool huh? But you know what it means, right?
Yeah you stink lady! Haha. Happy Birthday girl! Me love you long time :)

Dr. Po
I'm starting to regret buying those damn poker chips in Melbourne.
*thinking*
Meh, who am I kidding? Poker all day. Trust me, if not for work commitments, I would run an illegal underground casino by now. I may not touch alcohol, do drugs and all the things God says na-uh to, but this. This is my weakness. At 7.30, I would take a 'Maghrib Break'. Dear God, please forgive me.
I blame my blood for this. I go to casinos around the world, packed with Arabs *confused*.
Haha.
Anyway, every Friday night is Casino Friday and you guys are welcome to join :) just bring loads of cash. Also, we have an in-house doctor in case you get papercuts from dealing. I introduce you....
Dr. Po!
Sarah and I call her 'Mommy' for a reason. Hee.
